well looks like they have them in stock , so what would you go with , they have 260 watt qb 288v2 equivalent to 500 watt has 576 less for $ 353 , and another 260 watt xw for $ 382,99 it has a different beard layout and larger heatsink same 576 leds or just a plain 260 watt 576 less for $ 304 .99. , what 2 would you go with for a 4 x4 tent . I'm ready to order and ditch these hot ass mars hydros !

Alright I've just started with growing using a Mars hydro 190 reflector, I'm not finding it that hot in my 3x3 tent, I got a fresh air feed coming in aswell how was your yields.

I have 2 of them going in a 4x4 , 6 " vivosun exhaust ( to the outside ) air in from the room itself with heat vent blocked , only way to chill it is open the window , Its weird tho in the winter I ran both them in a 2 x4 tent and was able to keep it 80 at the top of canopy and 50 below , no problem did crack window a hair . But anyway I ordered 2 of the 160Xw horticultures , I'll mount the drivers outside of my 4 x4 and rock them both thru the summer .

If you are growing 2 plants, I would get the 260 that is longer, so you can have more space between plants, I think it's still only 3'.

If you think the hobby might grow, the 2 135's would be exactly the same boards, but you are paying for an extra driver since each board has one. This would give you the option to have different heights for different plants, as well as different intensities if needed. Or a plant in veg and one in flower.

well I went with 2 160's QW 's , curious how long did it take for you to receive yours ?

quick, but it depends on where you got them and if you wanted them pre-assembled. Those should be great. I have two 135's flowering 3 plants right now. Wish they were the 160's but I am impatient and they were never in stock.

got them from the growers light , they said their assembled . I sure hope so , not do great with electric !

Neither am I, but assembly and shipping from them was about a month turnaround. I got it in 4 days instead and put it together myself. It was really easy, but the wires on the power cord you have to hook up have different colors - so it wasn't black-to-black, white-to-white, etc. But they have a diagram that shows you and one of their guys (Kurt?) was on e-mail with me looking at a picture of my work to make sure is was right before I plugged it in.

great to hear they were really supportive ! I had mine assembled , would of had my oldest boys do it , but they have since to journeyman jobs ( lineman ) in Fredericksburg , VA. . Growers did just send me a e-mail saying it would be 2 weeks cause of high volume , but I can wait , it'l be closer to my birthday , so they'll be my present to myself !

Hey got a question , starting from where each main goes up , how many nodes with braces and leaves did you remove ? so far I removed everything from first 2 nodes going upward the each branch .

I'm not sure about your terminology and don't want to tell you wrong. Basically you pick which nodes/shoots you want to keep get rid of the others. It's gonna be based on "feel", not science. Kind of like a bonsai plant where you think about what you want it to look like, then try to get it there by pruning some and leaving others. The size of pot it is in I think will ultimately determine how much plant it can support, and how many cola etc.

@morugawelder This is the last manifold I grew. I pruned everything on every limb until the flip, but left one stem on the inside of a few to see if that effected the limb. It did. Each limb had about the same yield, whether it was a big single cola or a big and a little cola. You could stretch it out and make a scrog out of it, leaving sprouts everywhere, but they will all be smaller - even if you get the exact same yield.

pretty good in a 2x4 with 2 of them , in the winter , summer it just got to hot couldn't keep ambient temp cool enough , nugs came out somewhat fluffy , butter made butter and was still not your socks off .

What I was saying is that the little side-shoots left on, (I see one on the top left of your pic) detract from the size of the top. That said, I don't know how nugbuckets got 2-foot cola without leaving stuff on below the tops. For me, I keep pruning every shoot until I have decided when to flip. After I flip, I give it 2-3 weeks for it to flower then prune any other stuff that looks to be small. You can let them all go and have a canopy like a scrog, or prune them all and have big tops, or anywhere in between. If the stems of the shoots get fat like they'll produce good flowers, leave them.

It sucks cutting away future flowers, but you can either have a 5g cola and five 1g nuggies, or a 10g cola. Your plant is going to produce about the same either way.

I just flipped her yesterday , I did trim off 2 little branch and a fan leaf that was shaded , guess I'll stop there for a few weeks and see where they go from there , by then the 2 160's should be here

guess thats what I was asking , just wrong verbiage , how far up do I remove side shoots , but like you said I'll wait a few weeks see what direction they go

I really think it boils down to the size pot you are in. X amount of soil can support X amount of roots, can support X amount of plant etc.​

So basically whatever you would have done harvest-wise with your system of lights nutes, feeding schedule, etc. will be about the same whether you leave little shoots all over, or trim them off. I think that is one side-effect of doing the manifold.

@morugawelder did u switch them to just the flowering spectrum at any time running the hydros or did you leave them in full spectrum throughout flowering
