Bloody Kangaroos!! Ideas??

Hey guys =]
been a viewer of this site for many years but i dont get around to doing much posting, although each and every one of you guys is my hero, fuck the system..

But anyways, i have a problem here in australia
My plants are constantly being harvested by hungry kangaroos!
(they are eating the leaves... leaving the stem to grow back haha)
I have my 40 or so seedlings ready to go out, but the ones out there being eaten are freaking me out a bit

I know lots of you wont live in australia, but deer, rabbits, native indians... whatever it is im sure you all have to sometimes address a similar problem...

anyways we came up with a few ideas
1 - strap the pots round tree trunks too high for the kangaroos to feast on
2 - obviously build a fence, but thats gonna cost a bit and look a bit sus, we want to spread out our plants a fair bit so that would be TONS of fences
3 - Small cage like fences just around the pots, but once they get big its gonna be a bit hard to do...
4 - Catch the kangaroos and blow them up to scare off the rest... but i dont think this one will work haha

But yeah, they all have pros but lots of cons of each of these ways
i thought about just putting platforms in the trees and sitting them up there.. but yeah dont wanna get caught
does anyone have any good methods they often use to get past this type of problem?

put stakes in the ground around them and use nylon. any possoms in the area ? they often a big problem

Don’t take my word for it, but I think if you piss in like a circle around your grow, they will smell your urine and not go in it? I’d do some research into their territorial behavior, no idea if Kangaroos would go for that or not.

we thought of doing that with wire instead but yep its on the maybe pile, thanks for that idea though :)
Yeah there may probably be possums around there too, although its more bushy area so i dont know if they would be in as big numbers, but you reckon keep the plants well away from trees just incase the possums find that easy to access?

yeah i read about pissing and stuff
but i think they are now stoner kangaroos haha and nothing will stop them =P

yeah SA should loosen up, "hopefully" in regards to their stance there
but , for now in VIC i just want a few plants haha
the thing i hate about out-doors is not only am i having to worry about the cops, helicopters, bush-walkers, rip-offs, bugs, pests, diseases...
but now theres the stoner kangaroos haha

next thing i know other plants will start craving a joint!

HOT and long for sure mate. I’m indoor's myself, I prefer the controlled environment, and the more security, eg. Less chance of cops, etc.

I hope ya find away to protect ya crop.

Mate, i saw some C%$TS punching a kangaroo and killed it (was on tv) like last month in WA (i think), i felt like beating the living S%$T outta him. Its the aussie icon FFS.

who does that ...

The solar charged/battery operated models are great for the Bush...

But we use them to keep the bears out of our tents and planes...lol...

hi mate you could try cyanide placeing on some bait what ever the kangaroos luv and it will drop the fukers right there and then

Possums shit me on my windowsill grow, ate my parsley too.

You could try one of those sonic emmitting animal scaring thingamajics, worked against possums fo me.

wait for it, catch it, cut it's belly open and string its intestines around the floor. leave it there to let the smell be a warning to the others. then piss all over the carcass. :)

haha what a great post.. i'd seriously go with the piss of a kangaroo predator or chicken wire cages.. oh and queensland FTW :D cept our laws are even further behind the rest of the country

Australia has too many Kangaroos... Killing them would compare to Flordians killing alligators to keep numbers in control.
