looking nice! I really wouldn't be worried, I didn't comment as most of the comments from others echo what I would say/suggest

You are right around when they should be exploding
You may consider raising the light and bringing it up to 100%
A little tip burn is common as many people really push their plants, it shouldn't hurt anything
I don't see any issues

Wow, really nice reply, thanks for that, will do. I can see I'm in good hands. Thanks, guys...

Yes, I can understand the uptick in Trichome production, as Trichomes are a defence mechanism. However, in my understanding, the genes that trigger that response, are normally signalled via a physical action, Eg biting, chewing pests. This is understandable, due to the fact a trichome is a physical thing,....so too are bugs.
Things like light stress, watering stress or even increasing the wind a bit, can help trich production. In addition to what you said which I also agree with

I've seen a lot of GDP grows over the years on the forums. There's a lot of variety, and GDP isn't exactly a cover model compared to more contemporary hype strains. It is often kinda leafy, with a lot of variation in the yield department. I think yours looks in line with expectations.

Thanks for your input. What do you think about defoliating 14 days after fip? Could that stunt growth? also, see how my pistles are all dying off? I didn't expect to see that this soon. My last grow was Calli O and an unknown strain. I don't think they were browning this early. I know the strains are different, but the fact that the unknown strain browned off right around the CO. Is my current RH of 55% too low?

What would you recommend for in the bag colour, trichome production and fat buds?

It can be tough to find something that ticks all those boxes. Reality is, you gotta hunt a little, and grow out many plants, I don't care who the breeder is, not every seed from a pack is going to be stellar and check all those boxes.

For all out bag appeal, I think Clearwater hits a lot of home runs with their gear, and I found the effects of their strains to be pretty good too. In-house is another bag appeal champ, but seems like opinions are mixed on in-house these days. CSI has a wide range of fems, and not just bag appeal strains either. Greenpoint is another possibility, but again, opinions will be mixed.

Your lights need to be closer to the plants.
You need ~ 800 ppfd in flower.
Here is a par map for different hanging heights with a Phillips 3100k CMH
Your lights are 24" - 600mm away from plants and they're dimmed to 215 watts.
Check out the Green Numbers below - 24" away. 580 in the centre and that's at 315 watts.

Looks like you've got a lot of tops in there. Topping multiple times usually leads to smaller leaves and smaller buds (with the trade-off being that smaller buds are less prone to mold).

Other than that, it could just be the genetics of the plant. Your pistils are mostly white still, so there's plenty of time for them to bulk up...

I also see that the young leaves are yellowing (chlorosis). So either pH or EC?

Thoughts?
Quick Deficiency Guide
  • Nitrogen: entire plant is light green in color; lower leaves are yellow; growth is stunted.
  • Phosphorous: entire plant is bluish-green, often developing a red or purplish cast; lower leaves may be yellow, drying to a greenish-brown to black color; growth may be stunted.
  • Potassium: leaves have a papery appearance; dead areas along the edges of leaves; growth is stunted.
  • Magnesium: lower leaves turn yellow along the tips and margin and between the veins; the lower leaves wilt.
  • Calcium: young stems and new leaves die.
  • Zinc: leaf tissue between the veins is lighter in color; yellowed; papery in appearance.
  • Iron: leaf tissue appears yellow, while the veins remain green.
  • Copper: leaf edges appear dark green or blue; leaf edges curl upward; young leaves permanently wilt.
  • Sulfur: young leaves turn pale green, while the older leaves remain green; plant is stunted and spindly.
  • Manganese: growth is stunted; lower leaves have a checkered pattern of yellow and green.
  • Molybdenum: leaves are stunted, pale green, and malformed.
  • Boron: young leaves are scorched at tips and margins.
Could be pH is off or lack of Nitrogen.

I was under the impression that SCROGing was meant to improve yields, as it allows for even light capture. What is the idea behind smaller buds?

UPDATE, I increased the wattage of the lights, and as expected the Tacho increased overnight. Is having 2x 315w fittings in a 1.5x1.5 m tent overkill, of is it that my canopy it two high do you guys think?
