This is the first led I’m trying out. I like it so far.
I can see the colors in the light…

Lots of mixed information online. I am genuinely curious the difference and how they affect quality and yield. Most people now adays say LED blows HPS out of the water. However if you talk to the old heads that have been growing for decades that wholeheartedly believe HPS is better. Any insight?
I got shut down for opening the thread HPS yeilds more potent bud hand down lol

all i gotta say is im keeping my 5 x 5 tent with a dual 600 hps cool tube in it” and still keeping my other tent goin with my 4 x 4 dual raptor with 2 400 hps lights in it… and i also got a sick 8 x 8 gorilla i just bought for $320 half off, a week ago with 4 mars hydros in it 450 watt eatch with a wisperlinepanasonic 440 cfm with a muffler and a 8 inch inline phresh filter 8 inch duct sooo fuckin quit you wouldnt know shyt… i live with neighbors attached to walls so i learned… anyways i keep my old tents cuz in the winter it heats the whole fuckin place up just right, clean electric air with the windows cracked.. yeah electric goes up a hundred bucks but gas goes down a hundred bucks, soo i play around and have fun with alot of diff strains that all react differently…
I run half magnetic and have digital on my old skool tents just cause all magnetic is too harsh on them man.. bust up your energy

all that crazy rf makes u nuts to much magnetic makes u sick to your stomach and your plants will love the switch up
He whats wrong with lep lights save $$ like leds only they heat up right??

Don't take it personally my man!. Everyone had a chance to pop off a few shots, and enough time to prove how or why. The mods here are more than fair IMO, and starting controversial statements just makes for a bunch of extra work they shouldn't have to deal with, I'm guessing like sifting through pages of pointless arguments th.....

There is no real side by side test btw, if you ask me. Unless you did multiple separate side by side grows with both lights, all in different parts of the country, in different climates maybe. One in the cold winter up north, and one down south in the desert, etc. There are so many variables to consider, but just hanging 2 lights in the same place isn't good enough IMO.

No one has to prove anything to anyone, but if you do by all means show us dank HPS buds!

No artificial lighting is all that good for us. The sun can kill you a lot faster than a grow lamp in many ways if we wanna get technical, right?

At the end of the day, I say a real king (or queen) has all the different lights or whatever they need in their treasure chests, at their disposal. Pull the right kind of equipment or lighting technology out that you need under any given circumstance. (or build one light fixture that has it all ;) ;) )

Lights don't rule, good growers that take care of their plant kingdoms do. 8-)

Pretty strong statement to say they are a waste when there are so many documented successful grows that use them. You're basically focusing your preferences on yield. GPW -that's more of an industrial point of view. As a small-time grower, I don't need to concern myself with that. I grow a few plants each run. The yield has MUCH more to do with the strain than it does with which kind of lights a grower uses. If an LED -grown plant produces ~6 grams more than the same plant grown under HPS....so what? That's only a big deal if you're growing thousands of plants of the same strain. Many times, people apply an industrial mindset to a tent grow. It's just not the same thing. GPW doesn't really mean anything -especially if you're running a variety of strains each grow.

Also, keep in mind that even small LED grows rely on adding an inefficient heater to the space -which basically negates the efficiency factor of the LED light. You're "robbing Peter to pay Paul" so-to-speak. The advantage of HPS bulbs (like CMH) already have the built-in inefficiency that produces the heat...AND they also emit a good amount of UV, too.
Leds 2.6g/w hps1.2g/w
Leds can use more space in a tent because less heat.
Leds live 10x longer thab hps bulbs(less buying new light)
Leds save money in sommer hps saves money in winter

Put the brand name in the search bar..
They are actually paid advertisers on RIU and they have a lot of promotional threads and offer some good discounts and the occasional give away.
I didn't know this before I bought one, I've decided to keep it instead of setting it up elsewhere for someone else.

I could of got 8% off if I'd known they were on here.

I only set it up last week, not sure about the 1000 watter but the 640w comes with a inventronics driver, which are good.

Thanks Im still a bit iffy in this dli so week 1 veg and i have the little tent like this,
Just watered i think thats how humidity on 80% as it was 70-75% yesterday.. am i right in thinking lights at the top then control with dimming switch to get the canopy at the correct ppfd, no need to move the led?

The 640 is in one half of my 8x4, next to an omega pro3.0 , similar wattage on the other half.

The 800 will be good for 5x5 in flower

Is this around correct for my plants size my light is on about 60-70% i think maybe a little higher which i though was to strong.. if i was to lower my light would i just lower the dimmer?20230821_080857.jpgScreenshot_20230821_075855_Photone.jpg

I move it with plants
My light is 24 inch away so i move it up with the plants or just control the canopy ppfd with the dimmer?
I don't veg with LED though. MH.

Reason to move light rather than dim is to maintain same temperature without adding heat.
Of course if your running hot then dimming would be the preferred option

Yeah that's about right..

I'd be in mid 80s temp wise too.

This is why I veg with MH. Because I don't like adding heat and under MH plants like mid 70s , where I had to have em 80-85f under LED.

So I only flower with LED, separate tents

Yeah i have separate tents just my t5 isnt good enough for after the seedling stage really, would the light further away and at a higher setting not get me upto my temps and then set the distance to get that 12 dli
