So basically you disconnected the hood from the main machine and plugged them in individually. That's a pretty nifty idea.

Thanks for the advice. If anyone else has some pointers with the aerogarden I'm all ears.
Someone should really make a manual for the AG only in relation to growing weed in it.

Here are the girls at week #4 from seed, Day 5 or 6 flowering.

I am moving them to a DIY system that I am modeling after the AG this weekend. I've just overgrown the AG, and don't want to kill my babies. Italian basil is the biggest, she is so damn bushy I can't even see the stem without moving leave out of the way. I had one leaf burn from touching the light, which is crazy because when I checked her in the morning before work she was a couple inches away, and by 6pm she had reached one of my CFL side lights and burned. I trimmed that leaf after I took this pic. I switch from Salad greens setting to Herbs/Basil and that seemed to make them grow even faster! I am also still only using the stock AG nutes, with no apparent ill-effects. I cut the mix from 2 tablets to 1.5 per gallon. Maybe I have a hardy strain or something. These are all mixed bag seeds from California, Oregon, and Mexico. I have no idea which seed came from where, but of the 35 or so seeds I had collected over the last 3 years, 25 of them came from some Schwag weed I got in Cabo. I tired to pick seeds that looked different from each other (for whatever that's worth) Anyway, who knows what strain they are, but so far so good. I hope they're girls!

As you can see, the roots are a tangled mess, In fact the roots from Italian Basil alone are taking up 1/3 of the resevoir at least!

I am hoping that it will not kill them to cut the roots a little when I move them. I am obviously going to try to minimize damage to the root system, but it is going to be inevitable. Any advice?

It will hurt them, but not too much. Just be as careful as you can, and the plants should pick up again in a couple of days.

You're doing the right thing. Great job.

add some ferts with high nitrogen like some kinda of miracle grow i use it on my aero garden and it doesnt hurt and shuld help with the yellow leaves if u need any fert tips just ask and ill put some pics of my latest crop on soon

....you know, when I started my grow I used the AG nuts. When I started flowering and added the HPS light, I switched to the Flora Nova Nut system. NOW I'm actually thinking about switching BACK to the AG nuts. I swear my plants did better with the AG tablets. Anyone have any thoughts on this? If you are flowering with AG nuts please let me know if you are satisfied. Honestly, If I could grow straight through with just the AG nuts it would be easier and cheaper. What do you all think?

the ag nutes are way too strong for weed and have some of the wrong things i use fox farms
grow big, tiger bloom and big blooms as well as open sesame(buds on demand) and cha ching (for lots of resin)

Yeah r3 I've been following your posts. I know that you and Tek have had a ton of success with Fox Farm. I'll probably switch to Fox Farm but for now I think I'll try switching back to AG nuts and see what my results are. I starte with AG nuts at 1/2 strength and the plants seemed to love them. Once I switched to Flora I started having problems. Dont' get me wrong I've had heat/light and a whole myriad of other issues but it seems to me like my baby liked the AG nuts better than Flora. I'll change the water and switch to 1.5 tabs of AG nuts and let you all know how it goes. I also soaked the roots in peroxide and ran my system with straight peroxide to try and kill whatever is making my roots turn dark. I took two males out last week then had heat issues so I'm trying to get that resolved. If nothing else, maybe I can determine that Flora Nuts aren't right for the AG. AG nuts may not be good as Fox Farm, but right now they might be my best option....

be careful with peroxide, it can really screw up your balance of natural good bacteria.

Only when you add way too much.
I use a little h202 as often as I possibly can. Somewhere around a half of a small cap per gallon of water does me good.

I went to the closest hydro shop and tried to buy Fox Farm nutes and some hygrozime (my girl has heat stress and root rot). The guy talked me into doing the Botanicare line with Pro blend, Liquid Karma, Hydrogaurd, and Klearex. This is the second shop that steered me away from Foxfarm. Has anyone used the Botanicare line? Has anyone else been steered away from Foxfarm at a hydro store?

I've been growing with AG nutes ( two of the small tablets every two weeks) for 5 weeks now, and all my plants look wonderful to me. I think I'm going to stick with the AG nutes, unless I have problems, No problems so far (knock on wood). The pic shot at 28 days old

If your roots turn a little brown and your using organic nutes this is normal dont worry about your roots unless they turn black...

You can still get good size nuggets with aerogrow it has a florecent and a HPS light should be just fine for the size plants it can hold
