HAHA!!! He has so much experience that the plants treat him as a god... He harvests when the plant gets out of the pot on it's own, waddles over to the string and strings itself up. What was the hmmm ok for? I know people with 500 posts that have just as much experience as people with 6000 posts buddy (no disrespect to mygirls). I also know people who have joined only a couple months ago but have been growing for years. Stop looking at peoples post count and start looking at their grows.

actually, the appearance of the buds changes. you don't need to check hairs or trichs. simply looking at it will tell you.

You can zoom in on individual trichs and study the hues of one pistol at a time, but the "ready" look really is all in the overall appearance and color of the buds as a whole, Fdd said it.
Could you tell us how long they have been flowering????
Sativa or indica?
This above nearly anything else (without pics) will give us a good idea if she is near hitting the perfect overall color for harvest.

so when the buds "look done" without magnifying or going by pistils the trichs are at 50/50 anyway right?? so then its the same as getting a microscope out and checking the trichs to see if they are at 50/50. Either way you are chopping at the same time........
so it doesn't matter what method you use if you are trying to get the same result
