NY mom charged after posing kids with guns

Sat Sep 5, 12:41 pm ET

NEW YORK – A New York couple face criminal charges after they allegedly photographed their 11-month-old and 5-year-old boys posing with guns.

Police say the 24-year-old mother told investigators she thought the photos would be funny.

Authorities found out about the pictures after the woman e-mailed them to friends and relatives, and one of them called the city's child protection agency.

The woman and her boyfriend face child endangerment, weapons and marijuana charges.

so, with 0 proof the guns are loaded, they are charging them with child endangerment (holding an unloaded gun is basically like holding a stick, unless you aim it at some one intentionally etc)

weapons charges, cause the second amendment doesnt exist

and of course they had to throw in the weed so everyone else thinks they are bad parents for that reason

did they pose them with weed? no

i dont have proof they were loaded, and they dont have proof they werent loaded

the guns were not used with any malicious intent, nor were they attempted to be used with any malice

i just think prosecution is a little extreme... for the pictures at least

and the main reason i posted this is the demonization of firearms ownership

agreed with keenly...this DOES contribute to the demonization of guns and brainwashing of society

since when did this society become so fucking PUSSIFIED? If the recipient of the e-mail found the pictures disturbing, why couldn't he/she take it up with them before notifying authorities?...they KNEW their "friend" or relative would be in some deep shit, over nothing. My parents never condoned smoking to me- they always did the opposite. But I have a baby pic of myself with a cig in my mouth cuz they thought it was funny/cute....it's not like they lit the fucking thing and taught me how to inhale.

this article is ridiculous. and ur right- an unloaded gun IS as dangerous as a stick...and i AM giving the benefit of any doubt to the parents in assuming it was unloaded. If it were a knife it would've been a different story

ridiculous article, and ridiculous society

they obvisouly aint ether of that if there callin the pigs in the first place, again, they fuc it up for us gun owners

Someone close to them obviously knew they were some kind of right wing whackos that needed an intervention.

I think that this is stupid to waste tax dollars on dealing with this, but..

This is not the fault of CPA. They got the tip from who these dumbasses sent this to. So they should have picked the people that they had sent them to a little more carefully.

The CPA has to investigate allegations of child abuse, and if they found weed that would do it.

Using the same logic every household in america has a pedophile in it and all parents who took pictures of their naked kids in the tub as toddlers just because they thought it would be cute need to be hunted down immediately and locked up.

So the parents thought it would be funny, and they posed their kids with guns so what it's their business nobody can prove the guns were loaded to prove there is truly any wrongdoing.

Weed in the pic, that's another story and another thing for people to stupidly overreact to.

I can't believe this shit. It was a dumb thing to do but isn't anybodies buissiness if you want to take a picture of your kid with a gun. They should not be able to even consider prosecution at all. It shouldn't be an issue.

Guns are good. The ability to protect yourself is also good. Handing children guns may not be the smartest move, but charges seem extreme.

Welcome to the Nanny State, a state created by the "Progressive" statists to protect us from ourselves. We are now living in a convoluted Utopia where kids are expelled from school for pointing a finger as if it were a pistol, or for bringing a butter knife to school to spread peanut butter on a couple of slices of bread for lunch.

How far we have come from the time when I was in school. I had my first BB gun when I was eight years old and used to hunt birds and lizards down by the local creek. I carried that BB rifle to and from my home ... and no one even took a second glance. I had my first .22 rifle when I was twelve and my first .38 pistol when I was sixteen.

I had a sixth grade teacher who insisted that every boy in his class carry a pocket knife at all times. His reasoning was that a knife was a valuable tool and every boy should learn to use one. He taught us how to sharpen our knives and would test them by trying to shave the hair on his arm. If the knife wasn't sharp enough by his standards, he would send you to the corner of the room, to the table where the oil stone was kept ... and he expected you to sharpen your knife until he could shave his arm. He always said: "A dull knife is a dangerous knife."

Now a question for all of the arrogant, know-it-all statists that post in this forum: IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU DON'T WANT YOUR PRECIOUS LIEGE LORDS IN WASHINGTON D.C. TO REGULATE? ANYTHING AT ALL???

Please ... just think about what I posted above and then ask youself ... "What happened to liberty? Where did it go and why did it go there?"
Yeah that is what I am saying, I don't think anyone posting on this board will argue that we have went too far. We have to pad the shit out of our kids now until they try to rollerblade looking like the kid in the snowsuit in A Christmas Story.

I don't think you are going to get anyone to be shocked about this is all.
