First time grower here.

Starting the 3rd week and most seedling look pretty good and healthy. I have about three out of 11 plants with some dark brown on the tips. The leaves still look pretty healthy overall.

Light-wise using t5 HO at 8000 lumens on 4-2' daylight bulbs. Temps at 88F and humidity at 66%. The intake fan blows on the plants constantly and have an extra fan. An outtake fan also for venting out.

Soil wise using local potting soil cut with MG Organic and Perlite. I'm not giving any nutes yet and water once every 3-4 days. I suspect either a nute problem or either too much (already present in MG Organic) or too little. Soil pH is a little below 7.0. I use pH tested water.

I will be using Fox Farm nutes by the next watering.

Any ideas about the dark brown tips?

Thanks.

I'm glad you're here and appreciate your time. I have a question. I'm on my first grow. One wonderful sativa who is now 7 feet tall and well into flowering. I started her out doors and now in. Can I trim branches as the buds mature rather than one great harvest and how would you recomend I proceed if so? Her name is Beatris and she's a real lady.

hi, i have a question about my seeds and how they have'nt germinated yet. they are from the white lable company and its been two plus weeks since they have been in between styrofoam plates in moist tissues and they havent even begun to sprout so i just took them and put them in a pot underneath my light...will they end up sparkin out of the pots or did i just buy some lame ass seeds?
any help would be appreciated.

I NEED HELP! I had a white powder mildew problem, so I bought a sulfur burner, but my timer messed up last night and didnt turn off the burner, so It vaporized sulfur for 12 hours, and now all the leaves are coated with sulfur vapor powder, they lights have been on for 4 hours now, It doesnt wipe off easily at all.

What do i do? Is the plant going to get burned from the sulfur?

Hi I was wondering If you can help me I have some Icy kush seedlings about 5 inches tall about 3 to 4 weeks old. They started growing really fast and know some of the fan leaves have turned yellow. I thought that no fan leaves should turn yellow if your doin it right. I have a mixture of 70% to 30% soil and perlite, good drainage I water about every day they are in 16oz solo cups for the moment. Heres some pics experienced seed grower please help me.

Hey man I have my first grow. I am a little concerned about the temps. I am out in southern cal and the temps are 84 and up all week. its been 3 days since I picked up 3 clones from a local dispensary. The temps are 90 consistently. I have 1 fan blowing in on the bottom and 2 fans up high blowing out. its out in the corner of my walk in closet. its kinda hard to bring the temps down when it is 90 degrees outside. Will I be alright as long as I have fresh air coming in? Any suggestions without using the pricey A/C just for 3 freakin plants lol. Thanks in Advance

Hello masterofgenetics,

I have a question regarding lighting. TO start off ill tell you what i got. I have a grow cabinet which has lights in it that have been good for my plant. Where i live it has been hot. So the cabinet has been getting a lil warm. i am currently working on a vent system but untill then i have been having the lights on in the cabinet untill the sun comes up for the first third of the light cycle and then i leave them till there is no more sun and put them back in the cabinet with lights untill my girls have to go to sleep (when my lights go off). IS THIS BAD FOR MY PLANTS? CAN YOU TELL ME ANY INFORMATION PLEASE? My two plants look very healthy

thanks:joint:

I dont see how this could be bad for the plants. I used to do the same thing for the 12/12 cycle when I didn't have my 400w HPS for my first grow. Growing your trees outdoors is probably the best you can do for them since the temperature is moderated by wind, the air has plenty of CO2, and the sun's light is strong.

You can cut off the excessive branches and clone them. Since your lady is in flowering already, you should just send the clones straight to flower as a cutting (12/12). They will take about the same time to grow as did the plant you cut them off of.

Not quite sure what ya mean by paint reflector but the best color to have your walls is just a flat white (it probably already is). If you want to go the extra mile, buy some mylar (really cheap) from walmart and it will reflect a lot of light without reflecting very much heat.

I believe airstones are used only for hydroponics- if you are using aeroponics, all the air your plants' roots need are already provided for 100% of the time. All you would need for an aero setup really is something to intermittently spray fine mists on the roots

I'm using a 400w HPS and its only about 5 in. above my canopy. Get the light as close as possible and put your hand where the plant is- if it feels too hot, your leaves will start burning. A few burned leaves are no problem tho.

Just make sure your plants get some form of ventilation. If it is in your room, opening a window should be good enough.
