The mythical character Icarus made wings of wax so he could fly but flew too close to the sun and his wings melted and he fell to his death. The moral being that in his arrogance and hubris he offended the gods. How the mighty fall.

The mythical media creation of Barack Obama, the new messiah, likewise in his hubris has been unmasked as a fraud and a pretender. All across the political spectrum, all across the world, he is seen now as weak and ineffectual. He bows and apologizes and then he is surprised that $100 Billion is brushed off scornfully by Copenhagen as trifling. He promised magic and now can't deliver. He has to bribe and threaten in a desperate effort to get votes.

This is the greatest case of buyer's remorse in history. "Flap those melting wings Icarus - flap 'em real hard now!"

while it gives me great pleasure to see this nitwit bomb, he is the president. now that scares the shiite out of me. i think we may be in for some really bad times not seen in a long time. i pray he turns around and realizes what is going on. i doubt he will because most arrogant people i know blame others when they fail miserably.

See what's going on? He "wants" what's going on. In terms of security threats, he doesn't believe any of those are real. He thinks it's all made up by "neocons" looking for excuses to invade other countries and make money for Halliburton. They can put that on America's epitaph.

Or did was it one of the other alarmist cretins that are only there to make a quick buck off selling gold and penis enlargement pills to their audience of gullible morons...?

This is the same old boring "obama sucks" thread that you start every other day....

And the answer is the same as always: We let your guy fuck up the country for 8 years, so I think it's only fair to give the man at least to the end of his first term before you start declaring him a failure. If the economy is still in the tank and we don't see any progress on afghanistan, I will be right here with you comparing him to whatever greek mythological figures you like, but until then you should give him the benefit of the doubt. We all gave bush A LOT of benefit of A LOT of doubt....it's only fair you do the same now, don't you think?

I still think you heard the icarus thing on limbaugh or faux news or the wall street journal opinion page and decided you just had to come share it with the rest of us. Not that there's anything wrong with that....just saying.

No this guy loves himself some bush/cheney....and yeah, a lot of the biggest obama haters do or did at some point. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it in itself either, it's just the hypocrisy that bothers me. Also, it's funny that even people on the right have to admit how much of a failure he was as a president, when the mere mention elicits this kind of defensive reaction.

But we aren't talking about bush the underachiever, but about obama who many of you contend is all fluff. I'm not necessarily disagreeing, just saying let's give him time to prove himself; he's done a decent job so far, but I'm expecting a lot more from him. We shall see. In the meantime, instead of pre-judging his tenure as president when he's hardly even started, tell me what you would do differently and why. Let's hear your plan for fixing the economy, reforming healthcare or getting out of iraq and afghanistan...all within 12 months, without increasing spending all while making the deficit disappear. Because that seems to be your standard so far.

Before the Florida vote was settled moveon.org and the rest of the hard left had already sworn to oppose Bush in every way possible. That's what "move on" meant. Don't talk to me about fair or giving Obama a chance. This time it was acorn fraud and and now we have a president not constitutionally eligible to hold the office. Fair and right is to oppose him in every way possible and at every opportunity possible. In fact, I would say you haven't seen anything yet. Now that his phony facade of hope and change have worn off, even the left and the media are turning on him. Welcome back Carter.

As for my plan - the economy would fix itself much faster if left alone. What Obama has done is turn a slump into a depression. Healthcare doesn't need reformed, we have the world's best healthcare. But it does need cost reduction through tort reform and interstate insurance competition, both of which the democrats refuse to do. And of course we don't need to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we need to prevail. You'll see more of the plan in a year when the new congress comes in.

We weren't sheep. We saw what he was and he proved us right and has done so again and again and again.

We don't need to pray that he 'fucks up'; thats all he's done- save one: telling the feds to stop going after legit Med marijuana growers. Other than that he's doing what Bush did and by no means was Bush anything close to a concervative Cluod City!
