christians think that people who are not christians burn in hell for eternity. now of course thats crazy and stupid but if christian's really think that how is that different from muslims wanting to kill your physical body.
if you cant comprehend the difference between someone believing you will be harmed after death & someone killing you, your 1 of those my daddy warned me about.
so madcow how do you feel about killing simple organisms or animals with regards to your understanding of conciousness?...
again,if you cant comprehend the difference between killing a housefly and a human baby, your 1 of those my daddy warned me about.

anyone want to ask what my father taught me?

AMEN! This abortion business is ridiculous as well. These same anti-choice radicals are the first to throw a fit when any other perceived liberty or choice is taken away. We see through your pathos-riddled arguments. Everyone outside of the church does, so keep your kool-aid there, please.
I was wondering, professor ... have you ever considered that someone could be pro-life on grounds other than religious views?

The slave holders of old had the mindset that Africans were less than human. Society at the time conditioned them to believe this. Liberty lovers set them free.

Has anyone posting in this thread ever considered that to hold the view of considering a baby in the womb as less than human is holding the mindset of the slave masters of old? Has society conditioned your belief?

Free human beings living in a truly free society enjoy the rights to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

true but why let the facts get in the way? christians are evil, even though most of them are really nice and generous, the rest have to be evil....:dunce:

thats the logic, hate and bigotry of the anti christian crowd.

That's why we have science. to answer questions that CANNOT be answered by "man's interpretation" of what a deity might think.
It doesn't take interpreting what a deity might think. All it takes is common sense. If you didn't interfere with a fetus would it not continue on it's path to life? Was it going to die if you hadn't touched it? Could that fetus have been the next Einstein? I know one thing, since it's dead it won't be doing anything..

When you look at abortion you have two possible scenario right? 1) Abort and kill the fetus. or 2) Do nothing and the fetus lives on. So can we agree any person deciding on going the abortion route is denying them of the #2 option?

If it's aborted did you not interfere from it carrying on it's life path? Did you not decide it was not fit to live when it could have and would have lived otherwise?

I don't see how you can see this any other way. To believe you have the right to cut anyone short of "what could have been" is highly flawed thinking.

wasnt trying to offend you this time ;) - was just attempting to show CJ the stupidity of stereotyping 1 last time b4 putting him in the catagory of people my father warned me about.
let me rephrase that
because of the unibomber, ALL enviromentalist are evil & nothing they say should be listened to.further proof-Al Gore has a bigger carbon foot print than some small communities so he is a hypocrite and the whole movement should be hated!!
hope that analogy is better!:-P  :-P

How about ... The environmentalists lobbied congress to shut off the water to the Central Valley in California causing a man-made draught, a 40% unemployment rate in the area, and causing FARMERS to stand in line for government food hand-outs, all to save a little minnow. Dare I say it? .... All environmentalists are stone-blind idiots.

It there were no cost and downside or risks to being pregnant then you could make a lot of arguments against it but that's not the real world. A baby has no right to ruin it's mothers body or life in order to be born. It takes co-operation and personal cost to carry a child to term and the baby's right to life even if you think it has that shouldn't override the mothers choice. They don't have a soul and they aren't even personally aware yet it doesn't matter if you abort them any more than it matters when you have a miscarriage.

Is a woman that miscarries guilty also, what if she does it often and it takes a few tries to have a baby. Is that willfully getting pregnant and miscarrying just to get one successful child the same as abortion? I think so. Nature provides more abortions than humans ever have.

so should abortion be legal up to the age a child can support themself? like 15 or 16?

Even if we accept his "math" of 10% , the atheists represent 0.2%!! Catholics and Protestants make up a whopping 75% of all prisoners.

That's no factor of ten ...

What the chart clearly shows overall is that religion is not a cure for what ails ppl.

Good parenting is a much better route than making sure the church is involved in the rearing of a child.

Please try to come up with better arguments than this. You ignored the meat of my post completely and come back with absolutely no substance.

I can't carry on a debate without getting real responses back.

you want a detailed response?

what?? you are saying a baby has no right to ruin a mothers body but a women has a right to KILL the baby? did you know a baby doesn't start by itself ? if a women doesn't want a baby, then she should not engage in activities that will cause her to get knocked up. his tongue will never get her pregnant nor can her throat get pregnant.

They don't have a soul and they aren't even personally aware yet it doesn't matter if you abort them any more than it matters when you have a miscarriage.
& you know a fetus doesn't have a soul? (-no offense PB) when does a child develop a soul? since no one knows, shouldn't we error on the side of caution & assume it begins at conseption?
not self aware? neither is a person in a coma or a retarded person, would you kill them also?
I dont have a problem w/ abortion if the child or mothers health is at risk but according to wikipedia that is only about 5% of the time.

..... Is .. willfully getting pregnant and miscarrying just to get one successful child the same as abortion? I think so.
if you think that attempting to have a baby & failing is the same as going to a clinic so a doctor ( i use that term loosely) can rip the baby out in pieces, you have no right to call yourself a rational person.
back to my fathers rule....

Tell it to the rapists.

Define "soul".

Exactly when does it become a "child" to you? I'm curious.
