Wow that girl is a beast and the buds are looking nice and frosty bro! Like they say "Fat Bottom Girls Make the World Go 'Round". :D

Three of my four girls exploded under their mini screens and the fourth is on it's way to catching up! I should be going 12/12 in a couple of days, even after waging major battles with root aphids!

Keep it up and I'll keep watchin'!

:peace:
Thanks JSG !
I'm most def sleepin on your grow !
I'll check it out ASAP.

Very dope. Cant wait to see the harvest. How much do you think you will yield?
Wadup Push !?
Hard to say what the harvest will be.
2 weeks ago I was hoping for at least 3 from the looks of them.
But with another 2.5 weeks to go, I'm hoping for 5 now !! lol
She's thick and getting denser daily, plus some buds are starting to lean.

DAY 39 TODAY AND FRESH PICS !!!

CLOSE UP TIME............

THE BOTTOM RIGHT COLA IN THE 2ND PIC THAT'S LEANING SIDEWAYS.........

LMAO.....glad you approve Keanu !
Joey Weed C99 is a MUST have and on my list for at least 2 packs !
These were veg'd for 7 weeks and topped at the 4th node right after the 5th node truly formed (recommended by Mr Soul).
So I have all these colas from ONE PLANT with 8 main colas/stems.
To be honest, I'm harvesting half the main colas on Day 51 or 52 and the rest of the plant on Day 56 for a slightly different high.
She's a fast maturing plant no doubt, so I am keeping a daily eye on trichs now too.
Flushing will start on Valentines Day so I will get 6 or 7 days in before the 1st partial harvest.
Using GH FloraLicious during flush too, the Fruit-N-Fusion flavor although the Pineapple one has me curious..

Mmmm. Mighty tasty looking!! :hump:

So are these girls running on autopilot or are they keeping you jumping? I'm 5 days into flower so just asking around what I'm in for. Veg'ing kept me busy so hopefully flowering is a kick back and watch! :)

My pheno is the shorter of C99.
Not much stretch.
Barely 2 times !
The other main pheno is more Sativa in terms of stretch , 3 times , from info I've collected about Cindy.
Either way, she's a kick back and watch bloomer, most def !!
Being such a quick finisher, you'll wonder about that until week 4, then she REALLY pumps it out.
During this last week, she has gotten crazy dense too !

The pics below are from yesterday.
A slow/quick dry in the oven on WARM for 2 hours.
This was a lower branch that yielded just over 6 grams of DRY NUGS.
STILL puffing on it and the high is lasting about 1.5 hours.
Not a knock-out high.
Makes me want to go do something ! lol
Also, Cindy is going to be the easiest strain I've trimmed !

hey bro, your shit looks real good. ive got a DWC system in some five gallon buckets and its kind of a pain in the ass already to change the water every week, and ive only got one plant per bucket. im curious, what is your method when you put new water in. is it a two person job? right now i just put an empty bucket next to the plant and lift it and the roots in the empty one and rinse out the other bucket.

Hey Flo I need a sounding board regarding defoliation in a ScrOG in 12/12.

Just before I went 12/12 I went through all of the plants and cut out all of the fan leaves that were stuffed under the 1 1/2" high screen. Within 4 days the plant generated all new fan leaves with the majority of them sprouting out above the screen. Taking away so much leaf material was frightening but in the end the plants responded with huge growth!

As you can see, my ScrOG has exploded and just from a quick count across the canopy I count at least 25 colas! :D A good thing!

In the second pic, you see me holding back a small part of the plant exposing even more bud sites starting to explode just above the screen as well, as many as 40 more of these underneath. But these lower bud sites are being shaded from the huge fan leaves growing out of each of the top bud sites.

So the question is, would you feel comfortable cutting the fan leaves away only from the top bud sites. Will this affect the nourishment of the tops or will the lower fan leaves support them just fine as well as giving more lumens to the lower sites coming up through the canopy? There was no recourse during vegetation but I'm not sure about cutting during 12/12.

I guess I could cut a few and observe. Just wondering if you have any thoughts or insight.

My plants sit in 2 gallon tanks and drink 3 gallons per week. I don't have to do any water changes. :)

You have bigger tanks which should produce bigger plants and if your environmental conditions are optimal your plants should drink the same ratio as mine. As long as pH and PPMs stay consistent through the drinking process even with top offs you know the plants are eating and drinking in a balanced fashion. Spikes or gradual climbs in PPMs mean the plant is leaving certain nutrients behind which eventually lead to climbs in PPMs as you top off your tanks. To solve this, allow your pH to drift up and down between 5.5 and 6.5. This allows the plant to take up a wider spectrum of nutes.

Ask anyone who maintains an aquarium if they do a complete water change every week! I have a 15 gallon fresh water tank...I don't think so.

A properly maintained water system will eventually establish a colony of beneficial bacteria and microbes. These microbes (although not effective against bugs) will eat all of the rotting material in your water including all the bits of roots which fall off along the way.

Observe your water throughout. It should be a bit cloudy and only bits of fresh root material floating around. That's OK as long as you don't see any dead brown bits. It should smell fresh, almost no smell. Your roots should smell like fresh lettuce or alfalfa sprouts.

The question you should ask, if it's been 10 days since your last water change of 5.8 pH and PPM of 900 and today your water reads 5.9 pH and PPM of 910 with clear, fresh smelling water, what do you want to do?

I know what I'd be doing! bongsmilie bongsmilie bongsmilie

well i know im gonna get some shit for this but i dont even check the ph or the ppms. i wanted to get one of those pen type testers when this operation started, but buying the tent, light and fan kinda broke me. ive been meaning to get one now that i have money but my plants look pretty good so im not really trippin. on my next grow i will definitely get one, cause i did have some trouble while these were still young. check out my grow and tell me what you think, i would put the lnk in here somewhere but i dont really know how. search for purple cadillac. what you said about the water eventually creating the beneficial microbes and bacteria makes sense, the reason ive been changing mine every week is because a friend of mine told me that salts and other shit would accumillate at the bottom if i didnt. but since i use r/o water that didnt seem right. plus, you are right, my plants are huge. it is such a pain in the ass to move the fuckin things. the purple cadillacs are supposedly a nine weeek flower, and im in my sixth week now and just started to use the bloom booster for my nute system. do you think i could just keep topping them off from now on? should i flush the buckets too when i begin to flush the plant?

i do the same thing and yes it is a pain in the ass . Its a one person job takes me a good 10 min to clean and add new water back. adding nutes and PH'ing the water is the long part. I too place my lid in a empty bucket dont worry the plants love the extra oxygen... And if this is a lot of work for you ( it is a bitch I know) look into Recirculating what you and I run is called " run to waste"

Not to sound like a dick but this is a expensive hobby.. If you dont have a PPM or PH meter ( 2 of 3 most important things in DWC ) then your plants are gonna take a lot of stress which could lead to hermaphrodites when they flower. YOu need to get yourself a PPM and PH meter or a combo ASAP , and for the time being yeah you should be cleaning out your buckets every 7-10 days.

^^^^What he said!!^^^^

You can't do any of the shit I talked about without a meter. Put it this way, a really good Hanna Combo pH/EC/PPM/Temp meter will run you $150. If you are only 2 weeks from harvest, then yeah, it won't hurt or help you at this point. But if you buy one now with 5 weeks of flowering left, the subtle difference it will make in the quality of your water will allow you to produce 10 more grams of dried bud, which by the way has a street value of about $180. Remember I said at least! It's an investment worth making now even if you have to put it on a credit card. More than likely your plants look good is because you may be minimally feeding them. How are you going to know where optimum is and how far you can push them?

And yes, you can't truly call yourself a hydro grower on this site.unless you own one. Otherwise you are just a hobbyist. And that's cool if that was your original goal. Truth be told, you should have bought the meter first before the tent and everything else. It was my very first purchase before I even started building my cab.

I'm not trying to be a dick either...it's the reality if you are trying to grow quality bud in a hydro setup. And if your not growing for quality then why bother?

Just my $.02. But I'm rooting for you!! And I'm going to rep you just because you sound like you're doing a great job despite the lack of meter...because I'd fail without one.

peace

d. mcandrews, if nothing else you need to get the ph drop testers with the color chart so you can at least keep them close to optimal. You can find them online or in a lot of pet stores, just make sure they check the ph range you're shooting for.
