guys, i wish i had thought of this earlier, but the dollar tree or equivalent dollar store (but make sure it's ALL for a dollar, not just SOME for a dollar) has some very useful stuff!!

i just came back from a shopping spree at the aforementioned store, and wanted to share what i got.

i have to break up this post into several parts because there's just too much lol.

ok, first, check this out:
dollar.x1.jpg

it's a hanging plant cage. circumference 10" = perfect!! put it upside down, hook it up to some steaks, and i gots my cage. i'll probably detach the chains and use them for something else haha... i got 3 of them!

next up, this:
dollar.x2.jpg

in case the first cage doesn't work, or for future plants, or for my tomato or whatever, this is a garden fence. but i noticed it bends fairly easily, so with two, i can wrap it around my 9" 2-gallon pots. naturally, i got 4 of them.

and this:
dollar.x3a.jpgdollar.x3b.jpgdollar.x3c.jpg

felt covered twisty wire. perfect for lst! there's like 20 in the bag and they're each a foot long. they seem to stay how you bend them, and they are super soft. the stems will love this!!

there is more, much more, but enjoy these for now and feel free to comment!

p.s. in case it's not obvious, each item costs $1 . :)

alright, here's the rest of my splurge...

these items are not as difficult to find in other places, but for $1?? i mean, come on.

dollar.x4.jpgdollar.x6.jpgdollar.x5.jpg

4 x sun shades should provide enough reflective material for my box.

9 sticky hooks, we always need sticky hooks.

and the tape measure, that's just general purpose, and i'm always misplacing my main one, so i figure why not, for a dollar.

also got a few other things (plastic pot coasters -- 6 for $1, and a few other things i forget). i almost got a JUMBO thermometer for $1, but it was so big i was afraid it wouldn't fit in the box lol.

ok, hopefully these items give you guys some ideas. i'm very happy with them!

the next updates are of my ladies in their box. coming as soon as i upload them...

haha yeah i was thinking of snipping it out (with the wire cutter i got... at the dollar store hahaha), but maybe i'll leave it there for character... i don't know, it's got orange beads, not a big fan lol.

any chance theyhave the steaks there to?
i circled the store like 3 times looking for steaks, but couldn't find any... that's the one thing they didn't have! so i'll have to pick some up a garden store (for probably more money than i spent on my whole shopping spree...)

Check this thingy out if you wrapped chicken wire around it http://htgsupply.com/Product-The-Wrangler-Plant-Support-System.asp
that thing would be perfect *except* that it's a little too big for my box (12" around times 2 plants... and the box length is 24", so...). but that should be great for your tent if you decide to go scrog! the dollar store plant hanger i got should be the right circumference (10"), now just gotta get some steaks! mmmmmm... steak... lol.

Go sic Home's. here have some rep+
thanks my man, i promise you'll have some +rep coming your way as soon as i'm able!

Finally the update we (or at least I) have been waiting for....

Blue cream on the left, amnesia haze on the right, on 12/12 for just over 2 weeks:

I managed to place the internal fan blowing air UP at the lights, which will hopefully help bring down temps...

Oh, and I ended up getting that 3-lens magnifier at radioshaft for $9.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102638

For anyone interested, basically, it's got 3 lenses, each 5x, and they can be overlapped on top of each other. so you get 5x, 10x, or 15x magnification depending on how many you overlap.

Here are som bud pics of amnesia haze with no loupe, and 5x, 10x, and 15x magnification for comparison... remember to right-click to enlarge!

no loupe:

5x:

10x:

15x:

this will come in handy for inspecting trichs in about 6-8 weeks!!

peace everyone...

thanks for the kind words stoney! to be honest, the plants are not doing 100% at the moment. i'm still dealing with some powdery mildew with a milk & water spray suggested by tricka which is working, but not totally finished yet. also, the leaves have taken a papery texture, i think they may need some nitrogen? i think i'll feed them some multi-nutrients tomorrow (veg, bloom, and molasses) for good measure.

Love the close ups homer! I'm gonna have to pick up that set, thanks for the idea! I like the pvc netting idea too, glad I dropped in here lol :)

On a side note I don't think you will have any problem with a late scrog if you go that route. I would either do that or steak the branches for extra support! Either way it should definitely help your yeild and help you manage your space and canopy.

thanks mr treeZ! i was on the fence about the 3-lens thing because i already have a loupe AND a 60x scope, but i'm glad i got it, i'm gonna be able to get some good bud porn shots soon! thanks for the tip on the scrog -- if you say go for it, i'm going for it lol. i'll just have to figure out which method, so many options now!

I like the mag shots, you can already see resin starting up in the 15x photo.
totally!! i couldn't see those with my naked eyes, but i can with the 15x tri-lens! that's a good sign huh, trichs after 18 days of 12/12? thanks bro.
