Making colored buds

This is mostly conceptual but could be a cool experiment. I might Try this on one of the popcorn buds after harvest. (mabe purple food coloring). I just think it would be cool to have colored buds. Also if you sell it might have more bag appeal (I don't support ripping people off). If anyone is close to harvest, trying this on a 1g bud wouldn't hurt.

Haha yeah man, don't sell them, if you bought colored buds and found out they caused cancer you'd be pretty pissed off, but hey than you could get a medical card and buy some real weed :)

Thats one reason i grow my own, also i can pick the strains, control the quality, and not have to worry about who has or getting ripped off

I would like to add that I've never sold weed and do not plan to. Imagine rasta buds. You could give the plant some yellow water then some red and it would be all different colors.

I'm not near harvest for a few months but i wouldn't mind losing a popcorn nug for an experiment
Me too, but i'm at least 2 months out on my grow also. If no one trys it, I'll set up a little experiment thread and use a couple colors.

I'm just wondering if smoking food coloring would be a good idea. I know its ok to eat food coloring but when its combusted it might turn into something bad. Idk. ill have to do some research

The more I read about food coloring, the more concerned I get. Mabe it is not the best idea to smoke food coloring. Apparently, each color causes serious side affects and has been known to cause cancer. Also, some European countries have banned food coloring that is allowed by the FDA even though they are harmful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_coloring

I don't know about the whole "food coloring thing" I wouldn't want to smoke that lol I know products like Purple Maxxx will bring out colors and I've been told lowering Nitrogen in hydro will create a purple color. :bigjoint:

Food dyes are safe to eat, smoke, or rub over your body. I have yet to hear of anyone die from eating skittles or gummy bears. And yes it will turn cannabis colors, but it won't look natural. Also if you sell weed you need to disclose the dyes you used, other wise you risk violating more federal laws. It's also tricky explaining to a jury that your colored weed was for medical purposes.

Why would you want to disguise weed in ways it is not?? For one, I do not understand what all the hype is about concerning colored weed... Second, if I bought some weed from someone and I found out they added some color to it, for whatever reason, #1 they lost a customer. #2, I'm gonna talk about you. You will lose your customers. For dishonesty and being shady. & #3, I might just beat some ass.

Keep it real and honest. Don't make fake colors dude. Green is good. Natural occurring purple is good. NATURAL occurring. Food coloring is for cookies.

Im looking at this as more of a fun activity to do with some males or some extra popcorn buds. In no way do I condone dying buds and selling them to people. As for food dyes, they have been known to cause cancer in rats but do to big company lobbying, certain harmful ones have not been banned in the US but are banned in a multitude of European countries.

Gary, I am looking at this as an experiment just see if it is possible and if it looks cool. I am not trying to use this to create bag appeal.
