I want to hear your EXPERIENCE with white widow, northen lights in particular - but also other "big names" that are being offered at various prices, by various companies.. There is no 'best' northern lights, there are different characteristics from each seedbank - thats all.. (anything else comes down to marketing). Some people won't like the same effects as you do so its more useful giving a full-report of the strain you have had and if you have had experience with it from more than one seedbank then it will be VERY helpful to see somebody compare them.. - rather than just going around telling people "this strain is THE best". Feel free to talk about any strain you have tried if its offered by more than one seedbank. This is a topic I have not seen yet, so I would love to see this one go HOT!!:fire:

My research has lead me to this info through reports:

White widow was originally created by Greenhouse seeds. Wheather it was done by an individual or a team all comes down to how people want to present it for their personal interests imo.. I don't trust half the reports I see (yeah im a real conspiracy theorist..). So anyway, the creator of this seed (or a part of the team) has hopped over to Mr nice and released an original (according to them the closest thing to the 80's strain around today) under the name "black widow".. They also release rumours that Greenhouse has lost the original genetics. Basicaly I take nothing of that for fact, but i have reason to beleive that both strains are pretty good. I would like to hear some reports about them.. Apparently there are like 10 seedbanks giving their "own WW edition". So what do you guys know about all this shit? At the end of the day there is no reason to go for the original if there is a better close version of it :D I have no problem with taking the fruit our times have to give.. Things go shitty when people idealize the past and try to get caught up in it i think.

Also about NL's. I know the 1st version is the most couch locking indica and the 5th one is a more yielding version. I am pretty confused when it comes to looking for which one to get. Also some good amount of statements show that nirvana's NL is more indica and faster to finish vegging and flowering, while Mr. Nice's NL is a more sativa dominant (compared to nirvana's) with much higher yields and less of a couch lock.

Thats all i have got to offer to the topic (other than starting it)

I can't offer anything on each strain individually but i can on k2 from barney's, a cross of what is supposed to be the original white widow and northern lights. It's a tough sob, very impressive plant that can yield very impressively when pushed just right, i have seen a talented grower pull minimum 3pounds per plant, one 600 hps to plant. The stretch in flower is intense but it all fills out. The smoke is top notch, smooth and tasty and it's one of those strains you can really influence the high come harvest time for indica/sativa effects. For a good producing and all around strain i highly rep it

Yea it was shanti baba that bred the original white widow, but he was simply working at Greenhouse seeds, i wouldn't even give greenhouse an ounce of the credit for the work he did. same goes for the super silver haze and when neville worked with shanti they made alot of the award winning strains that greenhouse likes to tout their own.

a fucking panda. You put a male and female in soclusion and wait for them to fuck and they don't do it. muthafuckapanda. I personally think the water bear is most impressive, although it's not technically a bear. I have a theory on polar bears being the related to the ever ellusive "white devil" so their out for me.
on the real note...
Great thread so far. I've been curious about KC Brains. and also after realing Mel Franks book ...a pure Afghani looks delicious.

spirit bears are the best. they r super rare. if rappers found out about how rare they were they would all stop talkin about bling and bentleys and get spirit bears coats. if i had bill gates money i would wear nothin but spirit bear gear

i love the office but i dont think its going to ever be as good now that carrell left (not sure if i spelled his name right)
i dont know what is best but i know from experience the white widow strain i like, its called black widow. from what i know that is the original white widow genetic, bred by mr nice guy. there was drama over whether or not it was greenhouse or mr nice guy, who created the white widow/who stole from who, but again from what i know mr nice guy has the original seed stock.
even if its not the original and i happen to be wrong, mr. nice guy sells some potent seeds and i think black widow is the best widow strain i've ever smoked.

what kind of high does mr nice's widow give out? Is it stable genetics? How about its growing characteristics? does it mega-stretch like a sativa?

I grew out Nirvana's Northern Lights and wasn't very impressed. Very easy plant to grow, but the yield was sort of light and the high wasn't really anything to write home about. Extremely low odor, so if you are somewhere where odor is a concern it might be worth it.

Just about every breeder out there has there own version of Northern Lights or a Northern Lights cross of some kind. From what I've read, Sensi's Northern Lights is one of the last remaining "true" Northern Lights strains. Also, Dutch Passion's Oasis is said to be Northern Lights #2.
