This subject has me interested now..and just a heads up to the mods, if this thread gets closed instead of banning the flamers, I'll just make another and another....and another until I'm satisfied with ending "POSITIVE ADULT" responses.

Back to the topic...Do you or would you think it's ok and acceptable to steal a dog from a bum, even if the dog looks ok..not sad or happy, just neutral. Pretty much like in Srh (sorry I don't remember weird names like that lol) anyways, you should get the jist of the question after you skim thru the pages of the thread "stole a dog from a bum".

I myself is still undecided, don't think I could steal the dog but ask him questions about how is he caring for the dog and his situation and if I felt like he was a druggie or abusing the dog in some way then I'd offer to take the dog off his hands or see if I could buy the dog for a cheap price which he should because after all, he's a druggie. If he still decides to be stubborn about it then I'd simply woukd call Animal services.

If I`m ever a bum please do not take my dog and I will not remove anything I feel you aren't responsible enough to have. According to this thread there is no evidence of neglect or abuse so yeah, hands off my dog, Pretty please.

I guess if there is clear signs of abuse, then the protocol would start with a call to the humane society or animal shelter. I personally know a couple train hoppers and some squatters from my early days. These folks (that I know of) treat their pets better than themselves. Downtown in L.A. there is an animal hospital for the homeless w/pets. They are awesome and obviously promote spay and neutering. There is a traveler who comes thru town every so often and he always has his dog with him. Beautiful Amstaff mix and very well behaved and taken care of. The world is their backyard!
Ive seen homeowners whom have pets and dont do anything, but throw the poor animal in the backyard and toss food at it. And tie them up to tires and trees. WTF! They dont deserve a pet(humanely speaking).

Dont fuck with mans best friend.....NO! Hands off! Bring em a treat!

In a case of abuse, of course, but I would let the law handle it, unless I can rescue the dog without physical threat or confrontation with its so called owner(in this case, abuser).

If there were signs of abuse I would do something about it. But the thread says if he was a druggie?
He could be a druggie, pimp, or an out of work instructor at clown school as long as the dog is ok the dog is none of my business.

I dunno, I don't really trust druggies, the dog may look fine but who knows what happens when he's high, could secretly beat it or say "this is fun boy, here take a hit of this crack!"

Anyone who's not at least trying to move up in life, I couldn't feel comfortable with them owning a dog.

If the dog was like the one in 420's pic, then hell, I'd prob. give the guy some money..... It's obvious he cares for/about the dog.
I've had 4 dogs over my 44 years, and they all were not 'dogs', they were little people with fur LOL.
No, that's not me in the pic, but you get the idea :cool::cool:

true, but don't we all want to give the benefit of the doubt (not just in this supposed scenario)? Granted, when you give a druggie a chance, you most likely will get taken advantage of, that's why I may take and buy food if asked, but I never give money.

I guess if you weren't giving then money and food for the dog and him instead then I could feel a little better about them having one, and yeah, gotta give the benefit of the doubt, even druggies can have good hearts.

And another thing that cracks me up is how you guys think of dogs like gods... You're like fuck the hobo, look at the dog.

Lets look at it a different way. I'm sure that hobo in the sympathy pic would rather be in a house, would rather be clean, and eating real food right? Well then I see nothing wrong with getting a dog off the street into better living conditions. Man, I have no idea wher some of y'all's logic comes from.

In other words, the hobo would be happy as fuck to get picked up and moved into a new home.. So would the dog.

It would just be selfish of a hobo to drag a dog down with him/her. Fuck the hobo if he/she is that selfish.

OK, let's look at it another way. the dog has no choice persay, whether he gets a "home" or not. I see what you mean, nobody ever WANTS to be a streetperson, but people have many more options to eat or keep out of the weather. I don't think a person that sits holding a sign is trying to better or help themselves, but an animal will approach people, find other animals, even go through garbage cans trying to survive. If you translate people/dog, I think the dog is trying harder than the people.
