it is to create the perception that you are paying for things and receiving services in exchange for your contributions, it is also to keep you complacent and subservient and it equates to you spending a portion of your life working for them. You hand over the proceeds of your labor in an ever increasing amount, you have less and must work more.

"You hand over the proceeds of your labor in an ever increasing amount....."

That's not true.

How much sales tax would you have paid on a new Honda Civic 20 bought in N.Y. years ago? How much sales tax would you pay on a new Honda Civic in N.Y. today?
How much property tax would you have paid on a 10 unit appartment building in Brooklyn 30 years ago? How much would you pay today?
How much tax would your heirs have paid if they inherited a 100 acre farm from you 50 years ago, how much would they pay today?

Which tax rates and historic lows compared to when? When the federal income tax was created the politicians promised that it would never rise beyond 3% of income...

States are creating and increasing taxes all the time. The property taxes in most states has never been higher. The rate on dividends just went up... There is a new almost 4% tax on medical equipment..

What tax rates are at historic lows again?

Back in the good old days, when the US was a vigorous and growing country the tax rates topped out at over 90%. Now, you hear rich people claiming it's killing them to pay 39%.

And you could deduct 100% of your lunches and travel expenses...

The real rate was closer to 30% with all the deductions.

Do you really believe that taxing people at 90% will grow the economy? I mean if that worked why not tax them at 100%?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

what an unremitting failure you are.

Hmm... I am a failure... Let me count the ways...

I own a home paid for by cash...

I own multiple rental properties...

Because I wanted to work for myself I started multiple businesses just short of 2 years ago and my income is now in the 60K range...

I have so much work that I am training another person to handle the overflow.

I dont need to sponge off of my wife or other members of my family for spending money, I have more than enough to fund my hobbies...

I can make my own schedule and take time off whenever I choose to and I am not close to working even 40 hours a week...

Damn, how do I even live with myself....

:]
