You can put a bare 600watt that close, even 9-6 inches. With a cool tube 4-6 inches away is right.

your intake and exhaust are not dedicated, that is passive intake, with no blower correct?. You have a dedicated intake that is cooling the bulb and then that warmed air is blowing into the chamber. Biggest issue i.m.o

that carbon scrubber should be outside the chamber, so no warmed air is in the chamber, another fan to exhaust heat on top would be ideal and
a dedicated intake with blower/fan at the Rez level would help emmensely, giving you a swamp cooler effect

Cooling the Rez now is made more difficult b/c you elliminated a great canopy that was shielding your dwc tub from heat.

your dissolved oxygen at 70 degrees plus is not suitable for good yeilds.

Do you understand now that light travels through the leaf to the ones beneath that appear to be shaded to the naked eye?

way way over done and it looks like it was done to early

sum plants dump the fans after about 2/3 of flower sum they just change color sum do nutin

i have defoliated at diff times during flower found big found- big fans only needed for veg growth and stretch
not truly needed after that but i dont start pulling them till 2/3 of flower

and i never touch up around buds the ones that frost over or the singles sticking out

when i pull them all buds are formed and finishing - these dont seem to have started

not only ver drastic also very early to be naked like dat

i hope you have not shot yo yield in da foot

yo youngster you had such a nice grow going your way

next time you try it at least 1 /2 through flower you dont even have buds yet
start at 1/2 way through pull like half finish at about 2/3 to 3/4 flower time
at that point ok to be bald except never never touch araoundbuds they supply energy to buds never touch the ones that suger up never never touch the singles that stick out of buds

the rest of the big fans supply energy to the part of the plant its connected to only

and after stretch the big fans not required

good luck you gona need it for this one and rememember my words for yoyur sak in da future

My guess is no magical gain in yield if forth coming.......results just a week or two later....
If look at photo #1, you can clearly tell how much damage was done. He's lost a lot of potential yield.

Never seen such stupidity in my life as some of the crap pulled around here. Some folks got to learn the hard way.

You got to give him credit UB, he manned up and said he was a noob just experimenting, kid deserves a pat on the back for that. Hopefully it will knock the wax out of his ears..

You're right, can't blame him I guess. His brand of experimenting is a lot different than mine and I've experimented on this plant to death and posted those experiments for years. BUT, what he's done here suggests he has no clue about botany, plant part functions, hormonal processes. You don't put your hand on a hot stove to see if it's gonna get burned.

And I don't hold any malice toward him. I blame what I consider a pretty silly and greedy industry that is just wraught with bullshit.

This is an art as much as science I don't defoliate that much in flower but do strip them naked like that in veg repeatedly from this20120915_120531.jpg to this just one plant four weeks flowering defoliated the week before they just keep growing leavesSAM_7636.jpg
