Would it hurt to give a bit of gro on a 1 time thing, maybe .5ml, just to slow the yellowing or do you think that would screw them up?
That is a good question, I have no idea because usually I go into the third week using gro. But I am now in week 5... Hrmmmm. Not sure What I should do. It is kind of a guess for me rather or not they will make another 2.5 weeks. THey will be coming down day 55 - 60.

Maybe I'll give them a squirt tonight.

If i was in your situation that's what i would do, a small amount wont green them back up but should help her keep leaves long enough to build weight.

Ive been reading alot of Uncle Bens posts, he says to keep the leaves green at all costs. He says he uses small amounts of veg ferts during the flowing periods.

I'm don't 100% agree with that statement. It is to early for them to be yellowing. For me on this round I am trying something a little bit different and that is I want the plant to use all of it's left over nutes. And if I continue to give a full dose of Nitrogen then that won't happen.

Just to clarify my flower regimen does contain some nitrogen and some gro formula but it is very small. What I believe I did wrong was stopping a week or two early.

Thank you for posting.

I wrote this in another thread:

  • My thought (in chem nutes) flush is needed. I get a nice white ash that burns all the way down.

The theory for me on the yellowing is that our plants are an annual flower. They bud, get preggo, drop seeds and die. I want the plant to use all of it's reserves everything. Before finally getting chopped and coming down. I have seen hundreds of arguments, blah, blah, whatever. This is a personal thing that I am trying.

My ideal bowl = Lit once, continues to burn evenly and smoothly... Continues to burn into a light white ash.

I have smoked so many bowls that come no where near this. Black char, harsh burn, especially from clubs.

With organics it is a whole nother conversation and many more arguments, lol. Don't flush, Do flush, No Ph, Always Ph, etc. Just my little experiment chasing the perfect bowl.

Rather or not it will increase the amount of THC is another story. I am not a scientist nor do I posses the equipment needed to know if there is any difference. Like I said my main concern is the smoke. Also I don't think there would be a big enough difference to say one way was better than the other.

Thanks for posting. Even at week 5 you think I should go ahead and give her a shot? They are yellowing but she should be able to make it 2 weeks but I have no idea as I have never stopped Nitrogen this early before.

Also, Like I said above there are traces of nitrogen in my current flower formula. Obviously not enough as she is yellowing. But I am 90% positive it is because I starved her at week 1 and 2 of flower. Lesson learned.

As you are doing aero i would add a small amount of veg nutes maybe 1 or 2 days before res change if its due soon (if you've got a while to wait then leave it as is) that would give her a little kick and as soon as you change the res go back to just your flower nutes.

Well today is the start of Week 6. I'll have some pictures posted by tomorrow. Just a quick update and another lesson learned...

Most PH meters are not water proof. lol :wall: I broke my 4th one a couple of nights ago. In total I have spent ~ $140 on PH meters. I always keep my ph meter in a separate glass and am careful not do anything over my res (learned this lesson before as well). Anyway a couple of nights ago I was doing my normal routine and then leaned over my clones and took a step back... right into my PH Meter and cup, knocked the thing over and now it will not hold calibration. It just jumps around. I have tried calibrating it every night the past three nights and have now given up. Luckily my hydro guy let me barrow his dropper while he orders me a waterproof one for $100 bucks. Just sucks cause with everything that has broke already I can almost buy two of these things. Maybe I'll start a poll to see how many other people have broken PH meters so I don't feel so bad, lol.

~~Here is the link to the poll in case anyone wants to vote: https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/758477-ph-meter-broken-again-smh.html

Take the battery out and put it in a sealed bag with some uncooked rice for 3 days to dry out the electronics, dont forget to put water in the cap and secure it properly so the tip doesn't dry out though. I've done this with 3 phones that got dunked so far and every one of them has worked afterwards although it is essential to get the batteries out as quickly as possible after it gets wet.

I did the rice thing already. Which got it to turn back on. But the reading is not accurate.

Week 6 Is here!!

New Ph meter is in now.

Green Crack - Scrog
PPM = 840 Currently. I bumped up the PLUS and Nectar (Bascially Chem Molasses)
Ph = Yellow/ Orange <--- Lol, yeah good to have an idea of how much ph down is usually required and a dropper just in case.

Next week will be the flush 7 straight days and Harvest the following week. Right around Xmas! Yay.
Actually I might start the flush next Saturday depends on how done they look.

Here are the pictures and some decent frost shots. Also, I think I was over reacting a little bit due to the yellowing. But to me they look fine. Feel free to post if you disagree.

Subbed!

I tried fixing my grow last year when all the leaves turned yellow and started falling off. I ended up burning the shit out of the remaining leaves :P

Some strains lose the water leaves when they start flowering.

You can see how burnt the tips got on the bud leaves:

This year I grew in the same exact spot but in an aged compost pile.

It is very happy :)

Week 6 Is here!!.
WoW, they're lookin healthy and nice coming down the line. So how has this Green Crack been for ya? I mean did you find it relatively easy to grow? How nute friendly were they? I usually run the veg nutes around two weeks into flower to try to keep them as green for as long as possible. Keep in mind like I mentioned I'm just a dirt farmer. I just dropped my GC seed this week and she broke ground in a Solo cup yesterday so she's officially born !

I love the Green Crack. It isn't the most amazing thing I have ever seen but it has a great bag appeal and smells amazing. Very pungent and in your face. The high sometimes gives me anxiety but I think that is with a high dose of caffeine and one to many bowls/ rips of hash. Which the hash smells exactly like it does in flower.

As for nutes she is good on my system. I use on average 7 gal of water and max the nute ratio at 4 gal. Usually the PPM's are about 1000 - 1200. But by the end of the week they are down in the 800's. <---- I am in a recirculating Aero setup. I have found that going over my ratio on this girl that they start to burn. Overall a very hardy plant once she is established.

Bear in mind that this is the same set of girls that went through a brutal process of moving and getting a lack nutes in preparation for the move. She bounced back nicely. As for the stretch she has been about 2 times but under the scrog I have no idea. This is also my first SCROG so there will be a bit of a learning curve for my next couple of grows.

Favorite part of this plant is the trich production. You can see the mushroom shape with your bare eye if you look hard enough. She isn't a super heavy yielder though. She gives a bunch of decent sized buds in this setup. Maybe without topping and a 1000w you could get a couple of nice sized colas.

FYI: I had one of my moms in soil and threw her outside. I tried to get her to hermie and self pollinate. I did everything minus the silver and calling her names. She refused and instead turned into some beautiful hash.

Ya'know as great as it smells I have yet to sample any of it. Its now getting very near time to chop and theres 3 of them. They should be close to cure in time to burn one with ole Santy Claus...:)

So Wednesday will be the start of Week 7 (42 Days). <--- This was edited. Thx for the correction RED

They will be going 55 days - 60 days. The harvest will be split up so that I don't have to stay up all night on a work night (you know for the other job that pays the bills).

Flush will start today. Just 7 gal of tap water ph'd.
I''l do another rez swap same style tomorrow.

And then the final flush wil start on Wed.

This will be RO water with a flush solution to get out any residuals. <-- I could probably flush with only tap water but I have the flush agent so I'll do it at least once.

Every time the PPMs start to rise I do a fresh swap. Basically goes like this until harvest.

Sweet everything will be down a week before xMas!

* I did a trich check last week and almost all milky. There were some here and there that were clear.
