sounds like gnat fungus flys, another way to kill them is to get a bowl of water, add lemon juice and detergent(as one member suggested to me)

I disagree with both of you, Not to cause conflict but ive worked with youth/teens before. a good example to show what i mean is you could sit 4 different people down (adults, children, teenagers, whatever) and pull out a syringe for a blood test, every single one of them would act individually...

it could just be that your used to the extremely bright blue light emitted from the MH bulb, i look at the two different lights all the time and one definitely looks different after u look at the other.

if they are little flys then it could definitely be gnat flys, which lay eggs in the soil and they hatch and feed on the roots. or it could be thrips, they are jumpy but they are white. Alot of fellas just use some detergent and water and spray it on the soil and plant, also one fella on here...

why not try this... get a bathroom suction fan, i got one for $20 from bunnings and it moves so much air that my cupboard never overheats. only downside is people can usually hear the fan apon entering the room if your trying to avoid house mates or guests finding out. just like any fan i guess.
