1000w DE - open hood vs closed hood?!

    Phantom says opens better http://www.phantomballast.com/2015-de-fixtures-comparison-testing

    Autopilot 8 light install /wire?

General rule of thumb is to fill conduit 40% max to allow heat to dissipate. I would try and hook it up as a 220v. 4 lights (1000w) use 18a on 220. maybe 22a on start up max. which means 44a start up on 110v. 30a 220v (10 g wire) means 30x220=6600w Peak. 6600x0.8=5280w running power. anything...

    3 lbs a light publication

I routinely get 2.5lb per 1000w DE Phantom running at 100% with 3 plants per light. In my eyes Grams per Watt is not dependent on plant count its all about keeping the bottoms clean of anything that will end up less than rock solid, having really good environmental controls (83 degrees F day...

Flood and drain controllers (any good)?

Active Aqua's Grow Flow controller is leaps and bounds better than the Oceanus. The Oceanus (at least the only 1 I ever bought) stops the feed cycle once the top float is triggered. even once water level lowers as it enters the grow sites it wont add more water, like all other controllers do...

    RDWC setup questions

I used 3'' pvc pipe to connect each 13 gallon site. Still never liked that system as much as the Ebb and Flow.

    New electrical service choice

16 lights is 80 amps at 220v. each 5 ton ac is 60 amps at 220v. ull need a couple. u should think about getting a 400 amp service. harder to find equip that runs 440 and 3 phase power costs more.

Lighting and electricity questions with New grow.

110 volts x 15 amps = 1,650 watts ur breaker will blow at about 1,650 watts. I don't think ur gonna make it.

Closed Co2 room system climate control ?!

Split type AC is the best if u can have a condenser outside. if not u can find sealed air cooled portable ACs that don't remove air from room and also water cooled ones. they are both awful compaired to a split.

I need electrical help!!! Grow room possibly fucked my Dryer up lol... Pics inside

Whoever wired the outlets from your 220v dryer circuit originally didn't do it in a very safe way. Looks like he separated the 220v hots into 2 110v circuits in the closet but the 2 circuits share the same neutral conductor, as there was only one in the original 220v circuit. or maybe they're...

    best ballasts???

I'm running 8 Phantom commercial DE ballasts (PARsource Commercial Open Systems) with the ballasts remoted for extra height. I have my wifi router very near them with no problem, but my neighbors are a few hundred feet away. I recently switched this room to these DE lights and I must say I'm...

    best ballasts???

I use PARsource Commercial DE Open System. http://parsource.com/content/parsource-commercial-double-ended-light-system. My ceilings are only 7 feet high so I remote the ballasts for additional height clearance with no RF interference on 8 ballasts. the Open reflectors can be kept closer to the...

    best ballasts???

No higher risk of fire. In fact ballasts tend to run a little cooler on 220v. Also, no ur bill is based on kilowatt hours. 1KWH = 1000w running for 1 hour. same at any voltage. very common misconception tho. u will want access to 110v outlets for small appliances (fans, co2 burners, small...

    best ballasts???

Amps x Volts = Watts 9.09a x 110v = 1000w 4.54a x 220v = 1000w The same 1000w lamps uses half the Amps on 220v Electrical wire is rated on maximum Amps. So the same wire can run twice the equipment (Watts) on double the voltage. 12g wire is rated at 20 amps. 20a x 110v = 2200 watts 20a x 220v...

How far will RO water travel

Most ROs use a standard filter housing size. Often u can replace the 50 gpd with a higher flow membrane. Booster pumps are also great, but u shoudnt have a problem with the length. If u are worried just put the RO upstairs and run a water line from the sink to it and a drain line back to the drain.
