I think scope is needed for science not to tell, when the plant is ripe. As many people have said, plant is ready when it looks ready. And what does mean "ready"? Well, someone will look on trichs, hair, or will count time, but main thing is the smoke - how will it taste, how will it smell...

I found this picture. I browsed through net and found, that you can really see a difference - some seeds really have volcano-like depression at the bottom. But dont know, if that really works 100 %. Will definately do some more research and try to determine sex by just looking at seeds next...

Hey, Foam! As wowisuckatthis said, You need to put light as close as possible. If the height of bulb is adjusted right, plants will grow fast, so You will need to check, if its not too close sometimes two times in a day. Put Your hand under the bulb, if it doesnt burn, its ok for plants...
