make sure your herb is very dry, grind it up very fine, load the bowl full but not packed tight, after you turn on the iolite let it do it's initial heat up.. once this is done you can get a couple of semi-vaporous hits. they will seem hot and slightly wet with a distinct flavor. continue hitting it regularly as it continues to heat up with the firing of the gas. after about 5 min you will get good solid hits of vapor. i find that one chamber wil give you nice flavorfull hits for abour 40 minutes. after that the flavor will kind of go away but you are still getting hits for about 30 more minutes depending on the quality of herb used. i have had bowls last me up to 2 hours with really resinous strains like my sensi-star.
the iolite is the only thing i use anymore.. i rarely use a pipe or a bong anymore.. the amount of herb that i can finish in 2 bong hits will vape for 2 hours in the iolite. as a result i use far less.
