I made a mistake and used the wrong bucket for growing. Light was able to penetrate the container and has turned my roots green how do I clear this problem up. I have already painted my buckets black so more light does not get through.

It has been a number of years since I have done any kind of growing. I do have seeds that has been sitting around for a few years now. How long will seeds last for they've been kept dry and pretty much in the dark
