I let it run for 16 hours straight yesterday in a room with ambient temps at about 68f and the heat sink warmed to a temp that was just barely noticeably above ambient. Even after running all day, you can put your finger right on one of the led's and it isn't hot at all.
What do you mean by china leds? Are you talking about the cheap no-name ebay stuff or the cree leds that come from china?
I bought my Cree grow leds from fasttech that SupraSPL linked to.. (I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing).. The china leds I was referring to are just for shop...
After accumulating some experience with shop lighting using china 10w leds from ebay and some aluminum tubing, I decided I was ready to make my first grow light.

Thanks for the info.. As it turns out, I decided to just go with a cheap china driver.. $10 shipped to my door. Voltage within range and it is constant current at 900mA.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good quality handheld LED trouble light? Looking for something really bright and something that doesn't have the transformer built into the cord plug. Tired of dropping them and busting bulbs while working on equipment.
