Ballast on tent floor inches from saucer - drain to waste - PLEASE TALK SOME SENSE INTO MY FRIEND!

I have a buddy who is currently growing in a small tent with a 400w hps. Drain to waste with perlite with a big saucer to catch the overflow. Fed by a pump that they manually control. He has the ballast for the HPS just sitting on the ground. Like 6 inches away from one of the above saucer...

    BBK - Started flowering.

Hi Guys, This is a BBK under 240w of 2700k DIY Cree J series. Been in the flowering tent for about a week. In coco using Canna coco A+B. Feeding every day with about 20-30% runoff. Vegged for a while quite happily under a 45w 6000k LED for about a month. Got a Wedding Cake next to it in the...

Lavender - 240w J Series 2700k LED - Coco drain to waste - Week 4 flower - Strange green things on top growth.

Hi guys, I have these strange green things that are appearing on the tops of the colas that seem to be spreading. Only on the ones closest to the light. This is a DIY LED panel using 240w of J seriers crees at 2700k. Initially these were a little close and the tops got a little light...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I have read that the digital ones can leak a small amount of charge during the off phase leading to the lights illuminating slightly with LED panels . This is why I am going for the analogue ones. Ill check my hardware store tomorrow to see if I can find a digital one that uses a proper relay...

Thanks epicfail - Way to to totally not live up to your username :) Looks like a trip to the hardware store tomorrow morning.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

A little off topic, but I just found out that my timer used for controlling my 200w 3070 panel has fucked up and the timing feature no longer works and has been giving my plants that should have been getting 12/12, 24 hours of light instead and I don't know how long it's been doing it as I very...

    need help between two cobs

I think choosing the cob will depend on how the cob will be used. I would choose (and have chosen for myself) the 3070 3000k for a good seedling to harvest light. I would choose the 3050 in 2700k for a flowering focused led as it outputs a little more in the deeper red part of the spectrum which...

LED Noobs, STOP Buying China Junk

Why have you come into an LED forum to bash LEDs and the people who use them? You clearly don't know much if anything at all about LEDs considering your above comments. Do us all a favour and go away if you have nothing to add to the discussion.

Apache AT600 led vs 1000w HPS Blue Dream Grow

I'm confused as to where all this drama is coming from - The whole point of this thread and GG's grow was to see if Apaches claim that their (approx) 600w LED panel can perform as well as a 1000w HID. Considering that the final yield numbers were so close, I would say that is a pretty solid...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Thats pretty much the setup I have been running for a little while now. 4 x Z2 CXA 3070's and one of those fastech drivers per COB. Works well. Although, there is an ebay link for a driver Supra reccomended that were more efficient and actually did output the full 50w for pretty much the same...

    CREE CXA 3000°K/80CRI spectrum analysis.

Simply awesome!! Well done SDS. Where abouts on the spectrum is that little bump in the red area? Looks to be around the 660nm but I cant see the numbers unfortunatly.

    LED Companies w/ LINKS

Yeah I forgot that most Led applications are for diodes that push nowhere near what we are asking of our cobs. 50w is a huge amount compared to the more reasonable 1-5w that we would usually see with smaller and more common emitters.

    LED Companies w/ LINKS

Considering that that 22W/(m·K) is still significantly higher than even the best TIM, do you think that it may be a case of the whole thermal system being somewhat limited to the component with the lowest W/(m·K) rating? Thoughts? I'm no expert on this at all but its something I've wanted to know.

    180w UFO LED

You can build your own array for around $1/w if you go the path of using the cree CXA 3070's. There is a pretty active thread going on right now. If you have basic DIY skills it should be pretty easy depending on how hard it is for you to source parts. Basically, all you will need is the LED...

Mixing White & Multi Spectrum Chip LEDs to Grow MedMan Silver Skunk BX1

Hey Pet - I was under the impression that the 3000k 3070's were putting out a decent amount of light around the 625-630nm and that supplimenting with additional 660nm was the winning ticket....What do you think?
