I wouldn't if they are tripping about it. Customer service is a weak point for a lot of companies.

Yeah see what happens. If I had to soak, would do it in water with liquid seaweed in it as well. Is what I water the Coco with when I direct seed.

Would let sit in water in a dark place for at least 24 hours if they pop open stick them in whatever medium your growing in (few hours in water wont do much), if not stick them in damp paper towel then stick that in a tupperware container in a dark spot and check every 24 hours for tap root until you give up and throw them in the trash. just attempted to germinate 9 year old seeds had 5 one popped... Got 6 seeds from thecaliconnection all 6 popped... Wouldn't buy from them again if you got 10 and only 1 popped sounds like crap seeds sadly or horribly bad luck.

I hate freaking seeds! Popped a ton of them - When they cost 150 bucks for 10 I get nervous! Some people drop em in a glass of ph correct water. I have used tap and had no problem... Leave them in the water for at least 5 to 10 hours. Some say the seeds that drop have a better chance of making it. Then go the paper towel method to get it to sprout. Keep them in a baggy and keep then in a warm place out of sunlight - not hot...

I baby the shit out of them to make sure I get em all if possible - When the sprout is about an inch long I make a small hole in the soil and then CAREFULLY put it in with the seed part at the top. Don't pick it up with fingers! - use a fork or something. Then I take a leaf to give the exposed seed some shade so it doesn't get cooked since it will want to jump up. If it starts growing so fast it wants to fall over - bury the tiny stem some to keep it upright. Hve fun!
I get a lot of high dollar seeds (last order was $568.45) they all get popped in http://www.homedepot.com/p/Burpee-36-Cell-Self-Watering-Greenhouse-Kit-95036/203110194

This way got me so far 100% success rate

first before i went bed i soaked the seeds in room temp water "i used mineral water" then when i woke up about 7/8 hours later i gently put them in paper towel

i used wet paper towel on a plate, turn a bowl upside down to cover you can use your light for heat to get it 79f the bowl will keep it dark and moist, 24 hours or so you will have tap root

then it is up to you i personally used a peat pellet it is perfect for sprouting a seed 4 days later my roots grew out of peat pellet and i transplanted to soil

but i did use a few methods when my seedling was in the pellet that others would frown apon lol
