    Too dry??

hey blazeonE, yeah, to be honest I don't know what went wrong... all i know is that it was fubar, tasted so wrong after that day in the jar and didn't sort itself out... I was kind of suspecting mold or something like that too, but really I have no idea... it was hard throwing it away as the...

    Too dry??

This stuff I had the trouble with still tastes shit... and I'm sure the high is compromised too... it's not pleasant... I think I jarred it too early and as I've read in another post, it went "Sour", it's very dry again now but just harsh and bitter and crap, so a write off... I think I should...

    your thoughts on bud rot?...

My airflow wasn't that good, but until it happened I didn't really think that bud rot would be a problem (I wasn't really aware of the condition). It's good to hear some of your feedback though... I think there are some scare mongering articles out there about how toxic the bud rot can be and...

    your thoughts on bud rot?...

...just harvested remainder of my closet grow only to find bud rot within the two most promising central colas... lost about a third of both plants to it. I cut and trimmed the rest of these plants which are drying separately from the ones with no bud rot just incase it reoccurs while drying...

    Too dry??

yeah I think I read FDDs too late and read other wrong advice about drying from other threads... I will keep the next batch drying in a cool place for 8 days, but keep an eye on it and make sure its still a bit moist for the jars... I think with this lot I'll see what it's like after a week in...

    Too dry??

ok... well I've switched... but guys I'm still not sure that it's just because it's dry... like I said before... rougher than the dry bits in the bottom of an old bag... perhaps simply a week or two curing will fix it... but if so there is still the issue of why it was good one night and bad the...

    Too dry??

It's in the jar with leaves and potato... I guess 5hrs isn't long enough but it seems a bit moister but still just as harsh to smoke... bit worried it's all a write-off though... and it was so good on Monday... still can't help thinking that there is some other reason for the harshness... I mean...

    Too dry??

cheers, I think maybe I will try the potato... I was trying to do everything by the book with this dry, but I guess I did just leave it out too long... can't think of any other explanation as to why it was so rough... but so good the day before...

    Too dry??

Hey, my first harvest was drying for a week and a day at 20C and on Monday night it smoked really well and tasted good (the stalks virtually snapped when broken), so thought it was time to move on to jars, which I did the following afternoon... when I came to sample a bud last night it smoked...

    Harvest Time: A Tutorial

I'm in the middle of my first harvest, the buds (white widow) have been hanging for 1 week at 20C and now smoke well, they seem as dry as most weed I've bought, but all the threads I've read say to hang for at least 2 weeks before moving to glass jars... do you think that I should move to the...

    My first grow, white widow...

Hey, none taken... they haven't had the happiest of upbringings which might have something to do with that (spending a few days in the dark and a few weeks out of the grow room) but I am still hoping for a reasonable yield of bud (which as I'm a light toker and it's for personal use only, should...

    My first grow, white widow...

Hey, thanks, I'll try and record some weights... it'll be per plant as the harvest is going to be staggered... despite germinating within a day of each other I think that each will be ready a week apart...

    My first grow, white widow...

so the oldest (close ups in next post) looks like it's nearly ready, this is the one I've tried (quick dry) and it was a good clean head high, it's slowly getting browner... am planning on harvesting when the pistils are exactly 50/50 which hopefully will be a couple of days time... I think the...

    My first grow, white widow...

..so, I couldn't wait to try some... tried the toaster method in the FAQ... worked very well...bit worried I might not be able to wait and harvest/cure properly... but there should be enough... ;)

    My first grow, white widow...

Right... first update for a while, I have been away, which meant I had to leave the plants unattended for 2 and a half weeks this time... considered a lot of watering options but in the end went for the wick method. This involved cutting an old pair of pants in to strips, stuffing them through...

    My first grow, white widow...

Topping at this stage? they are now over 4 weeks into flowering... I hadn't planned to do any topping of these 5... On my next grow I am planning to have one multi headed plant, so topping early. Let me know though if I should be doing any trimming/topping now... I was about to start flushing in...
