Do you use the same indicators for harvesting Sativa plants as Indica plants? 50% or more of pistils ghanging etc

I am building a horizontal hood for cfl's my question is does it make a difference in light quality if lights are mounted horizontaly or verticaly?

I am on my first grow and I'm using cfl's. I'm building a light wiith a horizontal hanging hood and my this is my question. Does it make a difference on light quality whether I mount the lights hanging horizontal or vertical. Any info is apreciated.

I have an unknown sativa plant 4weeks into flowering and progress seems to have stopped and some of the pistils are dying off. There aren't any pistils showing on the lower 2/3 of the plant. Any ideas?

can I trim off the large leafs to allow more light to get to flowers?

I am setting up a bedroom grow room. I'm on a very tight budget and was going to use foil for reflcting off the walls. Any feedback?
