i only make winterized stuff and in my experience it changes a bit, but not nearly as much as non winterized oil. As demontrich said, i too have some winterized shatter from several months ago, and its still mostly the same as it ever was.

I have a question. I didn't want to start a new thread tho. When i winterize, i filter through a single coffee filter. If i were to have a buchner funnel would there be any advantage to it over the coffee filter? OR is it more effective at removing fats/waxes from straight blasted...

sometimes some material can just not be made into shatter...it sounds like this is one.

cant remember if i posted this or not, but i got some dank looking stuff from a buddy..burned great in a j, white ash etc, but when i ran it for bho it was dark, and it waxed up fast, ended up being a waxy patty, guess some strains are just assholes.

Yo Bomb! :) - I found that as well - regarding winterizing that it requires higher heat to purge. WIthout going to at least 110-115 it will never fully purge. Is this cuz of removal of waxes/fats it somehow wont purge on lower heat anymore? I mean... i can purge on lower heat at first...but...

Everyone is different. I have heard people warm it up, i've heard people warm up the everclear and then blast INTO the warm everclear, i've heard people blast butane, heat bathed some, and THEN added everclear... All of these methods except for the last don't allow you to easily know how much...

Correct. I usually go max 115-120. Often times less.

I decided to vac my winterized oil before it was 100% dry from purging, it was barely wet from moisture/everclear, but decided to vac anyway. Hooked a cold trap up but nothing even made it in there, just insta poof. here a quick vid at the beginning when there was lots of moisture...
