HPS spectrum is around 2200k (unless your using a hortilux type bulb), which works best for flowering. For vegetative growth you want Metal Halide (5500k) or 6500k Fluorescents. For vegging those 2 little plants I'd ditch the HPS and buy some cheap CFL's or a T5 and get em real close to the...
