Had the same filter a while ago and worked just fine.

Those inline fans are built like tanks, and the 170cfm 4" only consume 65W if i remember correctly. You don't need any heavy duty cord or power bar. Don't even need a timer also! Plug it in and run it 24/7. Peace!
