It's been about three weeks since I planted my grape seeds into rapid rooter plugs and none have germinated. They were two different varities from two different sources one is a tree and one is a vine but none of either one has sprouted yet- does anyone know any secrets for germinating grape seeds?

My wife and I like to make our own wine so we have alot of grape vines and blueberry bushes. Grapes can be very hard to start from seed. They require a good cold period before germination will happen. Fresh picked seeds should be kept in a damp paper towel or peat moss in the fridge for 2-3 months. After this you can plant the seeds in a well drained soil with daytime temps between 70 & 75f and hope for the best. If your seeds are from store bought grapes your chances of getting the same quality grapes are very slim. Cuttings however are very easy and a much better bet. Hope this helps best of luck.

yeah, soft wood cuttings would be better. Some seeds like cold stratified first. Or scarifying. Scratching the outer hull of the seed. I woulda liked your post but here's some rep instead...
