for flowering i use a Hortiluix bulb,,,,, and for veggin i use a Hilux Grow its a conversion bulb that is just as blue spectrum as a MH that goes into your regular HPS ballast you DO NOT need a convertible ballast,, just a regular HPS ballast........... but the HILUX GRO bulbs are pricey but worth every pennyWhich bulb:
GrowBright 400w or 600w HPS Lamp ($24.00)
AgroMax 400w or 600w HPS Lamp ($36.00)
Hortilux 400w or 600w HPS Lamp ($55.00)
i dont have a 100% sure answer on that one for ya sorry brother,,, but i do know that i have never had any problems with the HORILUX bulbs before and they work amazing, and they even work amazing for vegging believe it or not...I plan on using fluorescent for vegging and HPS for flowering. So, is the Hortilux that much better than the Agromax?
You have to keep in mind that a small plant could finish flowering at 1' while her seriously vegged-out clone sister could reach 6', both tall and in diameter. The number of plants you can fit in a certain space depends on how big they are. A 400w can support 2' of vertical plant growth in about 2.5' square of floor area. Any plant parts outside of that area will need to be rotated in regularly to receive the same light as the rest, causing the light to be spread out more and less crystal to form.Thanks. Just to ask, is 400wt enough for good yields on 6 plants?
