same shit going on different day 5 post germ, waiting for sprouts...

Changed up alittle from organic soil to MG moisture control... Ive talk to too many people on riu that sware by it with proof in pictures... So i dumped the pods in a clean controled envirement and replanted the seeds into MG Moisture control.. Great thing is i found huge long thick tap roots shooting out all seeds which means there growing! Two more days and i should see something pictures then will follow..

Have a similar setup but wondering how you calculated 22k lumens? I have seasonal affect disorder and was told I needed at least 10k lumens so I have 10 x 23 watt light box and that gets me just over 13k (each rated at 1400 lumens). Does reflective surface increase lumens? Not hating - just know nothing about lighting and want to learn.

You're not crazy gastanker, I was going to ask the same question. By my calculations, even with 4 42w bulbs there would only be about 13,000 lumens ... Again. not hating, just curious :).

I hope you don't mind me jumping in, but reflective materials don't increase lumenage, they simply make more of your lumens available to the plants by offering a reverbiration of light.

Sounds like you're off to a start homegrwn, I'm interested in the Strawberry varieties for my breeding so I'll be keeping an eye on this. Let me know if you need anything, keep the updates coming :blsmoke:

Dont forget the calculations are for coverage and not lumens you cant add lumens unless its a stronger bulb.. no worries im stoned ya know!
I was just figuring that I have more than enough light for the space being used and this is my second CFL grow..sig is first...

Sorry for the shitty math the first was in my head the second on ms calculator LOL!bongsmilie

And no it doesnt raise the lumens but it reduces the amount of light being lost by reflecting it back toward the plant... I have my flouro vertical so that i can disperse the light from the bottom to the middle and use the cfl for top coverage at the cola or main branch offs.... You can see the flouro in my pics ill make another one

I tend to shoot for 60w/sq ft in my space at minimum, I've only grown using CFLs to this point. Generally I use 2 - 42w 3000k and 4 - 26w 2700k bulbs. Tends to put off ample lighting and my buds come out firm everytime, no fluff. Keep up the good work, you'll be just fine :blsmoke:

Yeah being my second journal on this site and a few on others I think If I upgrade it will be a suppliment of 150 or 250 hps... I just had a thing for my old one the product comparison is near the same but I finished flowering earlier with HPS...Maybe it was the strain not sure but ehhh check back and see the growth shooting for three females out of 4:eyesmoke:

nice grow homegrwn... hope this one turns out good for you. good luck man, ill be watchin. and btw lumens dont add up. for example you put 2 26w cfls side by side thats still only 1600 lumens. you need a brighter/ higher watt light to get more lumens. adding more lights with the same lumen output increases your lux. in other words more lights of the same lumens= more light coverage.
