It has been one week since pistils started showing. The buds are barely forming and there are no white pistils. They are all brown. The temps are between 65-70 night and 75-78 lights on. The soil is MG potting soil. I water every 3 days. What could be the problem???

P.S They are female clones.

The buds are barely forming but no pistils, that doesn't make sense? Lets see a photo.... Use macro mode on the camera if you could..

The lcd screen on my camera is broken so i cant take any pictures. There are little buds forming with a few brown hairs. I know the difference between male and female. All of the other plants that I have grown have had bright white pistils. The only new thing I have done was add a drop of hydrogen peroxide into my water bottle. Im looking a little closer and there are a few white hairs with brown on the tips??? Could they some how been pollinated??

It could be the soil they have been in the mg for bout a month now. 70 watt hps 8" away 100 watt mh 8" away. The MH and HPs are air cooled. I also have some cfls in there 2-4" away. I added a pic from a couple of weeks ago!

I also have another 100 watt MH to add in there. Would it be ok to add the other MH in there with only 70 watts of HPS?? Also the plants are 2-2 1/2 foot tall. I think they could probably use every bit of nutes in the soil as soon as it is released.

Your at one week bro ??? Let it go for a couple more weeks dude. Your in the stretch phase not the bud develop stage per say. They will pack on some weight in a few. PATIENCE dude its a must to all gardeners ;0

Hi,..... Mg grow soil is a little on the acidic side PH wise (5) and is loaded with harsh chemical ferts that i'm not a big fan of. a few pistils turning brown is not a big deal specialy the tips... it's probably due to low humidity...... but if its all the pistils i would start by checking the ph of the soil due to thr fact your using MG and ( nutes?) your ph is almost certainly screwed up(locking out much needed nutrients). As for the lights you can add the MH but you would get better results with more HPS light or more 2700k cfl's , good luck !

The relative humidity is normally between 45% - 48%. Would it be safe to add a little petalized lime to raise ph??? How can i test the ph??? Are there any homemade ph tests??

get a ph meter $15....peletized lime is no good you need fine powder also you mix it well with the soil(before you plant)to late for that...get a ph meter and some ph up & down adjust you water slowly over the coarse of a couple weeks so you dont shock the roots ...invest in better soil next time you'll save yourself money and heartache in the long run

Im going to be getting some ph up & down within the next week. I will also be getting a couple of cloners and hydro tables free of charge and brand new! YAY!!! I will also be getting all the nutrients, rockwool, and pumps!!! Is there any suggested ph meter that I should get?

I got one at lowes and it says 5.5 little acidic!!! what would happen if i grind up the palletized lime and then hydrated it? Would it be efficient enough to raise my ph??? Also wont the growth in the plants start booming once ph is corrected?

Its almost 2.5 weeks. They are still the same size!!! The majority of the pistils are brown and a few are white with brown tips. Could it be that i have been lazy on watering them??? I have never had this problem before.
