So i have some lights sitting around from an old fish tank, the lights are combo 6,500K and 10,000K. I know that the first is okay, but how will 10,000k effect the plants?

yeah they are for growing coral, which need lots of light, so I thought maybe they wold be better. No one knows for sure?

10,000 Kelvin is getting in to the UVA and UVB range of light.
Yah use it, but turn it off when your working around it. or wear
some sun block and sun glasses. Run it with the 6500K your plants will
like that. Use that 10,000K when you go to flower, use it along side
something else liek a HPS or what ever your gonna use for Flowering.

Most MH bulbs are actually shielded which means they block out the majority of UVA/B unless it says unshielded. 10,000k means "pure white"

all single ended mogul based HID bulbs have glass doped with chemicals that reduce UVb transmission to under 5% and UVa transmission in half at least.

10000k is a nice spectrum to veg with but a little to blue for correct growth and node spacing as the guy said above i would use it in combo with a HPS.

the best single light halide source would be the Venture 5000k halide, most are 6500k and this is probably the absolute best for veg and short space nodes.
i would go with a 6700k or 6500k halide for veg. any brand will preform about the same some are a little better than others, Eye Hortilux uses different glass envolope that lets more UVa out, but keep in mind if you use a hood or tube you are reducing the UV output even further because of the glass.

the best veg combo would be a 5000k and a 6500k halide or a hps and 6500k halide. red spectrum is very important in plant growth
