K so I made an areocloner from "stinkbuds-harvest a pound every 3 weeks". I filled it with cuttings 10 days ago and there's no signs of rooting. I am running it 15 mins on and 15 mins off. I know I should be 1 on 5 off but. any1 else run the cycle I do? Resaults? Tips from any1 who uses an areocloner? How long does it take u to get roots?

oh sry... didnt see any replies as i used my phone and the server doesnt seem to refresh well... yes they r gettng water, no they r not getting nutes.. they have no roots so how they gonna take in nutes... i dont want it to grow, i want it to root.. my res is at 20C or 69F... is that too cold??? i put a clone from a previous batch done in rockwool that just started showing roots when i built the system and it has great root structure now, but nuthin on the new clippings

the water temp is ideal...the only thing i can think of is...be patient...some strains take a while to root...I know that the strain that I grow takes 12 days to root through rapid rooter plugs...its all about the strain...have you cloned this strain before?

13 days now and nuffin! No I haven't cloned this strain b4. All I know is that I need them 2 root soon. I want this perpetuating. I have always had problem with rooting clones. I was hoping after building this unit that my troubles would be over, looks like I'm jus spending more $ on shit. Now do I invest more $ and throw clonex in the res or wait? Will clonex really speed this process up? I thought these thing r the cats ass

hmmm...i've cloned in so many ways and never have had a problem with any of them. i've cloned in rockwool, rapid rooter plugs and aeroponics all with the same sucess rate. reg pH'd water works, and if you want to add the recommended amount of clonex solution...i use B'Cuzz roots...helps out a little to cut a day or two off of rooting time.

ive seriously had the worst luck with cloning... i tried building a fogger, 3weeks+, still nuffin.. straight water changed every few days, 3weeks+ still nuffing.. plugs, soil, roockwool they jus eventually dry up as im not around often enuff to keep them alive... so far rock wool is my best but still not where i want and need to be.. thats y i built this cuz its suposed to be aster and i dont have to baby them, they can do there thing on there own... right now im not very happy :(

I use an aeroponic clone bucket. So far 100% of all cuttings have developed roots. I'm growing perpetual with 3 different strains (White Rhino, Blackjack, Permafrost). The WR developes roots within a few days, the BJ takes about a week and the PF takes almost 3 weeks. When I take the cutting I immediately place the cut end under water where I make a long diagonal cut along one side. This exposes the plant to the rooting hormone and gives it a great place to develope the roots from. Patience is the name of the game with cloning but I feel the most important factor to successful cloning is room temp. Keep the room's temp around 75 degrees if possible. The cuttings are in a very fragile state and small shift in the room's conditions can stress the cutting which can stunt development or possibly kill the plant. Don't over think it or try to do to much. Just let the aeroponics do the job, and remember to change out the water every week. :peace: OUT!

Hey bro; I think you're doing everything correctly, and I've had the longest rooting time ever. Some people say they have roots in 3-4 days, and I wanna slap them!!! I've not been able to obtain roots within a damn month. I believe you will prevail, but it takes them a lot longer under non-optimal conditions. I have been reading that higher temps will root clones faster, but mine took as long as a month to root. As long as they don't look like they are 'dead', then they are at work. The speed that they are at work depends on certain variables, but I am pretty sure it's "CRUCIAL" to have 100% humidity via a humidity dome for the first 3 days after cutting the cutling, or it may stress them out big time which in turn will take longer to root. Mine have taken about a month each time. Here's my thread, and some pictures to assist.

Poll: Rooting or Rotting, you decide.

Im growing 2 strains perpetually right now. One of them roots in a week or so, the other takes 3 weeks.
Doesnt matter what i do or what method i use, it takes 3 weeks.

Dont give up hope man, just keep them alive and they will root eventually.
BTW I run my bubble cloner 24/7 along w/ my light. Make sure to keep the light from being too direct until they root.

He's right, don't give up. BTW, I've tried it both ways, (keeping the aerocloner on 24/7 and 15min On/ 15min OFF) Both worked but the 15/15 made them root a few days faster than 24/7 (not a substantial difference).

thanx guys.. i will be strong.. hahah, jk... so u score a cut in the stem so the rooting hamon gets up in there??? or do u mean u jus cut at 45 degrees??? how do u put a humidor around a rubbermaid tub??? my room is colder then i like, im in the process of figureing out my vent issues... gonna take air in from my house rather then outside so that shuold warm things up a bit... i beleive 1 is showing root bumps rite now... how am i gonna pull a 3 week interval perpetual harvest if i cant root within 3 weeks???

one more thing, if i add rooting harmon like clonex or sumthing, how long b4 i have to dump the res and change it??? can i get away with 6 weeks/2 batches??

dont waste money on clonex it sucks and dosn't help. make sure you use RO water, I add 10 ml of A.N. jumpstart to my res. and thats it. I also run my timer at 45on 15 off, would do 4-1 but those timers are like a hundred bucks and dont trust the cheep digitals. good luck bro mmine usually root over night on day 12- 14 then its off to the races!

I take a 45 degree cut under water then I score it along one side (about a 1/2 to 1/4 inch long slice, depending on the size of the clone) keeping it under water, then I dip it in clone gel. In my experience the roots always grow out from the damaged area first.

how do u put a humidor around a rubbermaid tub????????
I wouldn't worry about adding humidity, the bucket provides everything the cuttings need. I've never used one and never had a reason too.

You'll either need to start the cuttings in the bucket 3 weeks EARLIER or find a strain that roots faster.

I use clonex solution in my bucket and I change the water out once a week (I use tap water). I always notice an almost immediate response a day or two after changing the water.
