10 year hiatus from growing. Kinda worried.

Hey guys, I'm greener than the greenest bud on this forum. From lurking I've discovered I can hopefully entrust you guys for useful advice. Backstory: 10 years ago I stopped growing after having a few harvests under my belt, I was young as hell (19) and wanted to travel and see what I could do with my life. I ended up finding a beautiful wife and fathering 3 of the best looking kids on the planet. I had a great job for about 7 years. Due to downsizing I lost my job. Alas, proposition 1 passed in my home state of Maine. So here I am, back and happy thing is I don't ever recall my plants doing this (pic related) with the leaves and I'm wondering what the fuck is going on? Any ideas?

Awesome that your now a father of 3, but sux that your job has downsized. As far as your grow is going, I honestly can't see any serious issues that you got going on yet. Keep doing what your doing n how your doing it, n I'll definitely pull up a chair n watch your lovely ladies do what they do best.... GROW!! Keep it going n keep it growing... f;)

Thanks bro, that's what I was thinking. Although I only water them twice a week with distilled water at 6.0. I guess I'll let the soil dry out more.
That is not good. It will leach nutrients out. Rather use a compost tea or kelp or aquarium water or something like that.
I also hate any type of flower pot, bucket, enclosed container. They are BAD for roots. If you have to use one, poke that bastard full of holes like a cheese grater.

I used an eighteen gallon Rubbermaid tote successfully. I put holes in the bottom, then newspaper, then rocks, then a mix of soil/perlite/vermiculite. That medium was like a sponge, using just a single 150w HPS I couldn't get my arms around it, largest plant under that light ever.

I remember tossing the rootball out at the landfill, fucking heavy!

Your plant looks fine!

Thanks for the replies guys! I really appreciate it! I just transplanted her to a 10 gallon pot. Half of the soil is Coast of Maine: Bar Harbor blend and the top half is Coast of Maine:Stonington Blend. Anyone try these? They seem to be pretty good. Also I'm planning on introducing bat guano in 3 weeks as an additive, the plants will be 7 weeks old by then.

In the bottom right corner of every post is a "like" and "reply" button. If you cant see it yet maybe its time or post count based and will come for you soon enough

Plant looks good, nodes seeming to be stretching more than my comfort level in my opinion. Looks like your using flourescent lighting, personally I would lower the light source

I was using a t5 up until fairly recently just to get it started and it was damn near on top of the plant. It's under a greenhouse roof now. Could it be due to it having sativa genetetics?

Yup definetely, no worries then, you didnt mention the strain is a 12+ week sativa

I dont have patience for sativas myself, I want 3 harvests a year with 2 month min veg

This particular plant is actually only about 5 weeks old. It's Black Russian which is 20% sativa. If that helps? I hear ya, the seeds were free from an old friend of mine though so I can't complain , I also got some critical kush and banana kush.

another one back in the saddle, looking great dood @D3c3p7u5

Is that really 10gallon or a #10? FWIW, large pots + small plants = long times of moist soil, it will take a while between watering to dry up just be aware and cautious of soaking those roots too wet for too long.

Thanks man! It's definitely a 10 gallon, took a whole bag of stonington to fill the fucker. Oh yeah yeah I've got it angled up to drain excess water and I put some neem oil solution in it to help prevent root rot. Pictured next to it is a half gallon pot with banana kush in it for a size comparison. The roots were clear to the bottom when I transplanted yesterday, a nice pearl color too :) I truly forgot how fun this is, unfortunately it's like waiting for Christmas when you're a kid haha.

Ok guys something shitty happened and I hope I can correct it. Or that it will at least mend itself. My in laws are visiting so I was out all day, it was a beautiful day so I put the plant we've been discussing outside to get some good old natural light.. While I was gone we had a torrential downpour a few times and I wasn't anywhere near home to get to it anytime soon. I come back and find this. I'm suspecting over watering since it was last watered 3 days ago and it's in a big pot. Do you think it will be Ok? The leaves are drooping pretty bad and this new growth is turning yellow. Please tell me it's not root rot; I'd hate to lose this one because it's start was so promising. I swear I feel like a brand new father all over again, Plus I'm used to inside grows where I can control the environment and I'm trying my hand at outdoors due to a limited budget for the time being, the weather hasn't been ideal either, rainy as hell which is causing humidity in a normally neutral area. Sorry for driving you guys crazy with what's probably me just nit picking, everyone on this thread has been chill as hell honestly. Anyways pics are what I'm talking about.
