Al depends on your intentions, but 2 1000 watt air cooled bulbs on a mover would be kick ass!

Pretty sure he is referring to LEDs, as this is in the LED forum.

Irishboy swears up and down on the Spectra Series from growledhydro

NOT ledgrowhydro or whatever.

If you go to the growled website tho you might find yourself thinking it was put up by someone who doesnt care at all about details. Its broke as f*ck!

But I have read Irish's journals and they seem to produce good results. Get the 290w model and youll have some kickass PAR

I wish I had 1k to spend on lights!

No hps. I'm going led. 100 degree summers and hps don't mix.my electric bil use to be ridiculous.led or maybe plasma, just heard about those and they seem promising.but most likely led.

so you think spectras are better than diamond series? any other suggestions?

1000 dollar tax return this year...lol

Well it depends on your area of coverage............but most would agree no lower than 30w/per square foot(of actual led watts)....

Mr X did flower successfully with 17w/square foot.....but he's one of the top led growers around(IMO)...using best led's on the market(Cree xpg/Cree xpe(evoled))with best driver on the market (meanwell)....

out of the leds you listed, I'd recommend to roll with advanced or the new magnums. I have advanced but I'm willing to try the new mag plus because I like what I've seen with it.

I swear by the Spectra lights, ofc that is also because its the only led i have experience and further i havent even completed a cycle with it. I have used it as side lighting and for veg cycle (id did great) and i am 5 weeks in on flower with it alone, but so far i have not seen the results (yet to finish). I would definently go with the Spectra from Growledhydro (.com)

They are right, the site does look like crap, and is more than a little confusing considering the old and new products in the same descriptions. Your best bet would be to contact Mike and ask him what kind of deal he will give ya if you have 1k to spend. Chances are he will cut you a fantastic deal (even i got one on a small single unit). Its worth an email.

I have seen results from the Blackstar leds, and they do indeed look good for the money, but as i've said before i just dont like the company. I do hear good things about the Diamond series, but havent taken too much interest in all these newish companies.

I think I may, go for multiple lower wattage lights over one large one.maybe 4 spectra 120.how much can I get them for? My browser closes every time I go to there site

Hydroponics Hut's ProGrow series is pretty affordable, use HO Cree chips, and have warranties. American company that has gotten several good reviews, I just got a PG260 and I'm loving it so far. I would buy a few smaller panels rather than one large one.

As for spectra pricing, like i said, you really have to email or call Mike to get any sort of quote. mike @ growledhydro .com

With the discounts he usually runs, it could be comparable to the rest of the bunch, but i sure like the quality so far. Cant speak of the others, more than heresay

Found a 400 w hps with bulb, winged cool tube, hangers and dimmable for 160 shipped.so plan is: 600$ towards 2 led panels.160$ hps. 200$ fan filter and duct.100$ tent. totaling around 1100. Than I'll just need some floros for veg, seeds from attitude, and some ocean forest. still have my nutes and essentials from last grow.whatcha think? And what size tent for flowering?

Seems that a triangle formation of the lights would be most beneficial and efficient? Each light is helping the other 2while also being helped my 2 lights, so prob a4 by 4 tent.

Sounds like a fun tent, i would at least go 4x4. a 400w hps can almost do 4x4 alone.

Do take some pics along the way, sounds like its going to be fun.

Also you can use one led for veg pretty well, unless your running two tents in which case totally just pick up a 4x t5 unit

Probably gonna run a small veg tent.i havnt grown in a cpl years.its crazy how much prices have gone down for just about every thing.

Would you get 1 6inch fan filter combo or 2 4 inch fan filter combos?
My last grow I used 2x400 w hps flowerimg with one 6 inch fan and had to run window ac unit 24/7.my bill was ridiculous. So id like to have the most efficient tent possible using minimal a/c. Should I use extra fans or are these leds as cool running as people say?

I might try the Solarstorm on the buyer feedback program.... it's from California light works..

or you could get x2 Pro-grows from hydroponicshut.com for just over $1000
