1000 watt bulb turned down to 600?

I have a digital ballast that has three settings, 1000, 800, 600. Can I run my 1000 watt bulb on the 600 watt setting?

yes that is the way they are suppose to work..wat brand u get? i have

1k phantom and two 600 digital greenhouse i dont typically turn it down unless i hve just put new babies underneath it, even then i just back it off the farther.. but YES tats the beauty of digital..=)

ya as said thats why its better to have digi ballast as it comes in handy at times like this for my grow im using 400w h/h and 600w for flowering
