1000 watt HPS veg?

hey watup guys i had a quick question. i am vegging with some flourescents but really want to pick up the growing process nd was wondering if i could put in my 1000watt HPS with 18/6 schedule for the babies to veg faster. will they still veg or will they flip into flowering because of the intense light? i was under the impression that 18/6 is veg and 12/12 is flower no matter what light you got....

yeah 1000watts is fine, aslong as you can get your temps right, the more light the better, the intensity of the light has nothing to do with getting them to flower, 18/6 will keep them vegging, 12/12 will get them to flower. I prefer 20/4 some guys on here do 24/0 with no dramas

the hps will grow them, but it will also cause elongated stems, but maybe that's what u want, more growth. i use a 600 w mh for veg, after my clones come out the cfl box. he's right, time cycle makes them flower, 12/12, anything else, they just grow, hope this helps.
