Okay I have 1 1000w hps and unlimited space. if i plan on doing larger plants how many can fit under this lamp? how long should i veg for???

If I were planning on topping and doing a short veg stage and doing fast cycles how many could i do using this 1 lamp?

what would be the best route for not only 1 cycle but more than one contiuously?? fast and small=more plants **or** slow and big=less plants

please be specific because this will be my first grow, and I would really like to hear from experienced growers for the best info. so please,

any input would be greatly appreciated!!

1 more question while we are in here also..... if I top the ladies, when is the ideal time to do so?? how long would they still need to veg for afterwards?? (this is in reference to the fast cycles w/ more but smaller topped off plants)

since you have unlimited space, you should think about investing into a light mover. you will notice your yields better and you are able to grow more plants under your 1000w.

okay but what if i dont want to invest in that?? can you still give me your opinion?? or try to expolain which would be a better method?? I only have a limited supply of money, but that would be a great idea, but I just want to keep it simple and get the most out of this project. so.... somebody help me out w/ this one!!! WHERES WIDOW?!

If I were to make one would it be bad to just move it periodically or does it HAVE to be moving on its own slowly??

right but Im not financially ready for that i want to keep the plants small and then top them off for 2 benefits, my clones and colas (2) so what i need to know is how long should i veg for and when should i top and how many, im using mylar the whole way around 1 1000w hps thats all

things to think about
1 1000w hps only gets down into the top 16"-20" of the canopy in the best case
2 1000w hps is optimal in a 4'x4' area,, that being said they will work in a 8'x8', but not near as well
3 in most cases you want 1 plants per aquare foot (4'x4'area=16 plants)
4 what kind of grow your doing (hydro soil, or aero) will make a huge difference in how many you can grow.
if your going for all out yeild SOG or SCOG is something you should look into.and if this is your first grow and your trying to get it as fast as possible i would stay away from topping. as for clones you can take plenty from the bottom of the plant about 10 days before you set the light to 12/12. it seems to stess the plant less that takeing off the top.
and as far as what every1 is saying about the light mover,,, you cant beat'um for the price. 1 1000w hps is good from twice the space and it will help to get light deeper into the canopy, cause the light will move a give light to parts that would be in the shade otherwise.

hope this helps, good luck, and keep us posted

get a light mover off of ebay or craigslist. by doiong this you will be influencing phototropism. you will have twice the area as a stationary light without the extra power of a second light. say 5x8. as stated before, soil or hydro will dictate the answers to your questions. if done in soil which i do, i would shoot for 18 plants in 3 gallons pots from clone. you will need a mother and clone zone for this. if you use a 60day flower strain you can have 9 plants 30days older then the others and harvest every 30days.

light movers are worth the investment in my opinion

If i had a 1000 watter i would grow 10 fat assed plants. I like to grow plants big so it looks like a hedge. Mine are topped at the 5th node and then those 2 tops i tied down as far as i can so the other growth catches up. I vegged for about 6 weeks.

This is only my second grow check out the link below :-P
