Whats up guys, so I'm just about to start a new room up with 7-10 plants in soil. The room size is about 3.5ft wide 7ft long and like 6 ft high. i had bought a 400w hps mh with a digital ballast a while ago and was waiting to use that but i actually just came across a 1000w non-digi.. I need your input as far as which one i can/should use. Thanks a lot, much appreiciated as always.

man... the 1000 watt for sure... as long as you have it vented and such... use the 400 for vegging while you flower and you can start flowering the day you cut...

you'll have to be a little more detailed than that.. I'm still pretty new to growing. are you saying like if i did a SoG or what?

no i meant to put your 1000 watter in that room... and flower your soil plants... As big and bushy as you can make them.. Dont worry... as long as you top when they are young to give you more colas you wont worry about them getting too tall... read my grow journal and youll be up to it in no time...

anyway ..flower with that 1000 watter.... and then in a seperate room.. or cabinet or something ..you can put that 400 watter to use. Ya dig?

Defintely use the seperate room technique above. Throw your clowns or seeds under the 400 watt and then transfer to the 1000 watt to flower. Figure out a good technique and remember time is of the essence

It really depends how much heat you can handle. Yes the 1000w light will produce a lot more, bigger denser buds, but the 1000w is useless if you cant manage the heat!

If your using the 1000w your going to need an aircooled hood, AND an AC, Or Cold air intake. Without a cold air intake, or an AC temps will be unmanageable with the 1000w light.

yep use 400w for veg, and 1000w for flower or do both to get a large yield if ya have enough room

so you dont think that i could compensate for that by just raising the cfm if the temp of the air coming through my intake was at a constant 60 or so degrees? i could do a cold air intake but would i have to keep my fans on when the light was off? b/c the temp in the room would then be the same as the outside temp which is far too low.

no there cant be anything coming out of the room and I'm in Oregon so the outside temps in the winter range from 50-25 most of the time...

umm well you should circulate the air, so put in a fan, but you dont need to keep it very cool because they cant stand much cold, like below 70. i never go under 70
