Thx bro for your hell and opinion I really appreciate all the help cus I'm learning everyday with this system but I feel you by waiting that long for full strength but back when I gave her 1/3 strength she was still hungry. I waited till the next week to give her full strength and she was fine but it's this week when I gave her the XL treatment things went ugly :( I thought I knew what the problem was and I was right with the pH swings. I do think full strength maybe a lil too much but she's there and been there so she will just ride it out. I'm not really tripping too hard cus she's still growing but the Silica is causing the pH to swing almost a full point so it will be cut back but really appreciate the help tho bro
No worries dude I love to help if I can. If your nutes are causing serious swings you may want to mix your whole soup together thoroughly, and then let it sit for like 20-30mins before PHing it. After you PH it let it sit another 15 or so before checking the PH again to make sure it didn't change- even the newly PH'd water will have fluctuations lol!! It's easiest to make your batch in a separate bucket so you can make it perfect then just pour it in to the dwc :)

It really is just one nute that's really causing the pH swing and Im gonna cut back on it. Was reading the levels of phosphorous and I know that's what causing it to swing because there's too much of it. There's enough of it in my base and B1 Boost and using it Silica with those two makes more phosphorous than nitrogen. Its just way too strong too use at full strength but I always mix my nutes thoroughly. This my 1st round of hydro but I've grown for years so I know how to mix nutes but I'm not doing DWC its a recirculating hempy setup so I fill res then mix nutes. Also I've come to the conclusion that my air pump is strong and I have to turn it down after mixing up the nutes well because when I do turn it on low the pH doesn't swing super crazy maybe just a couple points so I have to remember to turn it down after flush and mixing new nutes.

Just wanna update everyone with her status. She's ok she's still growing but slowly. She's a fighter :) so when she makes it past this minor hiccup she will be strong and lovely. I did a really good fim job cus she's got plenty branches coming out where she was fimmed. I think she may have not recovered from the fim all the way when I hit her with the XL and with the pH swings it has locked out the phosphorous which sucks cus I have sooo much of it in my res with the Silica:( but I'm going to cut it back to quarter strength this next nute change which will be soon cus she's in need of fresh nutes and Dr Repair. If the pH still swings like crazy with that small amout of Silica then I wont use it at all and I'm gonna up the Dr Repair a lil more. Will have some pix for you guys later

Word if there's one thing that the vets on this forum seem to lean towards it's N ratios 90% of the time. 3-1-2, 3-1-1, 3-2-2 and so on. I'm going to have to research hempys. I was going to stay ignorant as I'm content with soil or hydro but they seem to be all the craze so I'll probably at least learn something cool!

Good call mate, im sure she'll fight back once the silica is reduced. Mines gone completely nuts this time with the lower silica ;)

Thx I forgot I had a garden saver book that has pix of all diseases and pH problems and everything very good book. Helps you figure out problem immediately. I'm just glad that the phosphorous deficiency didn't take complete hold of her. She's already fighting back bro :) but wow I believe it I know it helps buffer the pH some but maybe a way too low a out will have it out of whack too. Iono but this Silica is driving me nuts lol

I may not be a vet on this forum but I'm no stranger to growing so I know when there way too much of something and will that Silica is way to much phosphorous. But this is still a hydro system bro just a hempy style hydro. Try it out bro really good I'm just having this minor hiccup but I've seen how this setup work on the person I got it from and it's the best hydro system out there beside the waterfarms. This works just like hempy but I have a res so I don't have to hand water it :). It's prolly easier to control the pH by hand watering but I can't do that cus I'm a family man and work long hours so it has to be soil or something that waters itself and this does just fine for me.

Set it and forget it is what it's all about! A watched pot never boils, and a dialed in plant left alone flourishes, these are facts .
Since I last posted I've done hours of reading on hempys and I'm honestly blown away lol. I'm proud to acknowledge the timeless- 'only if I knew then what I know now', once again haha! Do you think that they beat a dwc system, with everything else being held constant?

Nice man, its always good to know what pH locks out what nutes and causes the problems hey :)
I also meant to ask what your feed schedule is? I had mine on 4hrly but changes to 3hrly and she rocketed lol.

You mos def got that right bro ;). Im glad your here for the ride and I also cant wait to see how this turns out

You are right about one plant being inefficient use of space but Im not trying to fit enough plants in there to use up the space. Once the plant grows and gets big her canopy will stretch across the light coverage and use up most of the space and light. Plus with the system I have there's no way I could fit that amount of plants maybe two at the most. I have an 8" fan exhausting the heat from the light through ducting attached to the door. The fan works really well because the temps are between 75-80 with lights on 67-75 with lights off. Im gonna add another fan to the door to bring in fresh air soon once she gets much bigger but glad your following along because this is my first time with hydro so Im curious too lol:) I think you will be surprised in the end how well this one plant will do in this space with the 1000w hps.

Lol :) the Last Samurai lol!!! she's really loving the perlite her roots are stretching for the nutrient water like crazy. She should take off in the next few days
adding fresh air at all times will help her as well..good luck on your grow mate..she will definitely be a monster..:D

Your right about that bro! I told you about the hempy's they produce some great yields and buds. If you get a chance check out Flowamasta he's the best with this recirculating hempy system. I do think it better than DWC cus nothing is sitting still it's always constant feeding and the roots are supplied with air in the water so it makes the system fast. Out the hydro stays gm I've seen this is the best that's why I choose this one. You will see once this girl gets right. Check out Eastcoastmo he's a great grower too he has same system as mines got a killer cross going right now. Check his out too you will be amazed. Peace

Hey guess what man! I decided to go out and buy myself a rubbermaid container and some net pots and what not:) you and a few other have made me wanna do a run with hydroponics! I'm gonna do a DWC just waiting on my Barney's farm LSD seeds first ;)

Yes it is bro. I wouldn't have known if I didn't have my marijuana garden saver book lol. I of the best books I have period. I'm feeding about every 3 hours it was 4 but the perlite was drying out a lil too much cus of temps were rising higher than I thought cus of the heat and air fluctuations in my house with my Mrs and her grandma ugh lol it's all good tho I got he feed nailed down just right wether they mess with the heat/air or not lol

Your def right bro. I've added a 4in intake can to the door and a 6in clip on fan and she's been doing better since I added those last week but it was the pH lockout this week the caused her to go haywire lol. Hopefully she gets through this hiccup ok and starts to explode! Peace

Thats wassup bro good head give hydro a try. You should've tried the system I'm running much easier to manage than DWC but you should be fine. LSD that's a top strain hope that runs goes well for you. Your auto is looking mighty good ;). Peace

UPDATE DAY 29 Veg

ok ok guys sorry I hit y'all with a late update but I couldn't hate to watch her being feed with the pH lockout water in the res so I had to flush her this morning. Believe me when I tell you that after I flushed her she looked much better and that was before a feed. I haven't seen her since I feed her but I'm sure she looks good. I didn't add Silica to the res at all this time and like I said my pH was spot on after I added base and adds. I'll prolly come came to Silica once she gets bigger to handle more of it but right now it's out the picture. Here she is after the flush earlier today

Hey man, quick question, are you begging under the 1000w? She should be much much bigger than that if she is, even with the lockout...or maybe it just looks small in the pics, i dunno, she just looks really small to me but still looks healthy...
good call on the silica, I've gone back to 1/5 of full strength and my pH is nearly spot on after minor adjustment...are you feeding every 3 hrs?

What do you mean by begging eastcoast. I was thinking the same thing but remember I fimmed her too and that and pH lockout may have really stunted her. Also I know I didn't have much fresh air coming in the closet so that prolly stunted her too but honestly I think it the temp fluctuations in the house that may be doing it. My Mrs and her Grandma need to leave the thermostat alone. I've been tryna figure out why she's growing so slowly cus with soil they would've been bigger than this. I still need to get the other exhaust fan for my light that should help with the temp fluctuations in the house and always keep it stable but I realized my humidity is very very low too which I don't know why cus where I live is usually very humid almost all year around even in winter. She's recovered from the lockout but I know somebody thought I gave her full strength too soon and said that may have stunted her I don't know either bro but I've been tryna figure out. Feeding every 3 bourse bro. I did raise the light back to get her to stretch a lil but I think I may need to lower it. Also I think I may need a new bulb cus I got this light from a friend. This is really puzzling my eastcoast????
