So I have the choice between using the 100w Philips CMH bulb or 2x vero29 running around 30w each at 600ma
Which should I go with?

not much knowing about the cmh types, but LED is the way to go in the lower wattage region.
Regular Lamps need to be big to be effective, Leds dont, their efficency isnt bound to a minum size.
simply compare what a 100w anda 315w chm put out per watt and do the math.

In lumens? If I run a 100w CMH it puts out just over 11000lumens, whereas I'd want to run my veros at 600ma which is around 35watts a piece and around 4500lumens x 2 so around 9000 total but less electric

Might have the cmh in the middle with 2 positional veros. Best of both

sounds good to me, but everyone if after something else, i am after a good lumen per watt ratio as i pay a lot for elctricity.

Similar to my plan to use 8x COB with 2x 4ft T-5 powerveg fs+uv grow light in a 4x5 area. I am considering a small MH also. But the two T-5 with UV+FS will work.

Go veros and add more to taste down the road

Right now I run 13x 1,000 watts HPS. Think alternating each light with COB over time. Each light covers 4x5ft area. I am yield type of person. But also product quality at the same time. Requirements to pull 16 oz per light is a requirement.
