I told myself I wasn't going to do this.. but I just had to trim some more burnt off.

Some calyxes are wilting, but it's a small amount, less than 10%. It makes sense that the sugar leaves are dying off too-- I'm really pushing this bitch to go as long as she can. I can't even trim all the dead off anymore.. the main colas are too compact now. It'll have to be done during the actual trimming/drying stage.

Pics in a few days.. I see new calyxes every day. Very surprising seeing her die and rebirth herself like a phoenix. I'm used to strains that stop growth when they're finished, so maybe I'm making some kind of mistake here. Trichs look to be 25% amber 60% cloudy and the rest clear. Harvest possibly before next Wednesday, we'll see.
Why are you trimming leaves off the plant? Can you post pics of plant? I'm curious.

They're brown/dead leaves.. I can't post pics tonite because my lights off, but tomorrow I'll see if I need to do a little more (probably do) and then post befores and afters.

Here's the before pic without the after, you can tell which leaf I'm going to trim:

Basically all of the leaves that are dying are first generation sugar leaves.. Remember this girl had no veg cycle, so she's dying pretty hard core right now here in flowering week 14. Harvest is imminent.

I've been taking all of the brown tipped/yellowed leaves, but those that are half green I just cut the dying part off. This way the plant doesn't waste energy on repairing those damaged spots.

Ah yep coolies. I had a knowledgeable old fella tell me once "never cut leaves off a plant when It's flowering as they use the leaves to provide energy for bud." My mate cut most of the fan leaves off his plants once (not sure why..) and the grow went to shit... Hardly produced anything. One thing Ive noticed about these forums is all the conflicting information out there. Everyone has something different to say.

Hey, I don't mean to come across as a dick lol. Wasn't giving you shit man although it kinda looks that way. Peace.

No I didn't take it that way. In generally if the leaves are dying, it's either the end of the grow OR it got f@#$ed up somewhere and isn't going to yield much anyway. Make sense?

Either way, trimming is good because they won't waste energy on anything dead, not even trying to pull that last bit of energy out.. which takes energy..

Yeah, that makes sense mate. I just hear so many conflicting beliefs between growers I find it hard to know what to believe. Not just this site but everywhere lol.

Generally people only see one specific side of an issue, and go with it. There's normally pros and cons to grow technique, I think that's because WE'RE F@#$KING WITH NATURE! I dunno, just my opinion, no fact there.

Here's a "micro" shot-- It's through a 5x, 10x, and 15x magnification on a jeweler's loupe. This is the new calyx growth on the top.

More micro shots: First one is all three magnifiers again, the next one is a single cola 15x magnification.

Well guys I finally harvested. Here's a pic with most of the trimming done, and a quarter to get a feeling for size.

I dunno why that light makes those nugs look purple.

A non-purple lit shot with a ruler (remember that it's in front, so the nugs are a bit bigger.) I'll have some micro shots later after it dries. That's what's really awesome anyway, so you can look forward to some of those here in a few days.

How old was the plant when harvested? Or how old were the pics? The harvest took over 14 weeks from seed 12/12 all the way.
