Opie has been nailing his topping.All of his plants look identical because of it.Nicely done bro.I be wanting to,lol I just can never make up my mind when to do so.Seems I like to wait until they sex,but by then I feel it'll be detrimental and stunt growth because they've gone thru stretch already.

That’s what has happened to me...not in this competition because all these are male. But I didn’t top or train til 4th or 5th node appeared and then did it. Unfortunately by that time she had shown sex and now I fear I stunted/slowed her growth. Wish I would have just let her do her thang for the typical shape.

Exactly. Aslo, I alsways like to let my first bean run go au natural to get a feel for growth,stretch,structure etc.I usually take a clone or two before flip also,kinda different when running 12/12 from clone in solos,not very much branching.Unless you top for clone.
So,my remedy is to hope for a reveg if the mystery checks my boxes.It's gonna be a nice lil experiment trying to reveg a solo cup plant. Not very many roots to start with.
I'll definitely have something to tinker with if the time comes.

I'm still learning on this too guys, some strains will respond to topping better than others. The size of the pot plays a big part of how they respond as well. Most plants will suprise you at much more they will grow after topping though. And even the ones that don't seem to like it still grow pretty good size colas.
Here is one that did well after topping
Here is one that didn't grow much after being topped, but it still made 4 good sized colas
And a C99 that did really good too
