12/12 leaking light. How much is too much?

While flowering how much light leaking into the grow room is acceptable? I know that no light is optimal, but is there a tolerance level? I know that most nights outside it is not completely dark, and outside grows do just fine.

outdoor grows do also see a lot higher rate of hermies than indoor. for my grow that is a big concern for me during flowering, i never risk it. i make sure everything is light proof

small amounts of light will not hurt the babies, for example if you have a ceiling fan with some bulbs and open your closet, the light has literally no PAR that the plan can absorb, and will do no harm.

i'd say no light. if there is any light the hormones that are responsible for flowering in cannabis will react and stop flowering. it takes about 2 minutes of exposure to effect the hormones. i read that in a biosynthesis book i have. tells all about the chemical processes of the cannabis plant and why flowering is inducted when lights switch to 12 hours. its pretty amazing reading. moon light doesnt effect because its just dim reflection of sunlight. too weak to inhibit the flowering hormone. so zero light leaks are idea.

My first grow - scrog inside grow tent - was an 8-10wk strain, it was still going and growing at 14 weeks. When i chopped it was an absolute jungle; airy, unfinished buds al over the shop. No idea why, until i reset the timer on my light: I had accidentally knocked on one of the spokes on the timer in the middle of the dark cycle. So 15mins of light in the middle of the dark period had a massive effect. All better now :)
