12/12 Light Cycle and Growing From Seed

Hi,
Nice to be part of this website:joint:. New here, but not a newbie by any stretch of the imagination.....but always learning!!!! :blsmoke: My question is, what is anyone's experience in growing at a 12/12 cycle from day one. I usually use 18/6 then switch to 12/12, but being handicapped.....running 2 diff light cycles, with one grow room is not working out as I slowly lose use of the right side of my body.
If I grow 12/12 all of the way through, what are the up's, the down's, things that I should keep an eye out for, that I might not have to if I was doing it 18/6 to 12/12. Any input, info ect... that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much:bigjoint:,

welcome...............your plants will start the flowering process from day 1 and if your seedlings have enough power to grow at all while trying to bud, you're going to have tiny tiny sickly buds I would say. I wouldn't even bother to try personally.

can't you just change your light timer later once you've vegged, and do it in the same room...? you don't HAVE to have 2 rooms.

My issue is that I am going to have a bunch of other plants that are flowering in the same room, when these should be vegging, that is why I am in this position.......any advice:confused:? I mean, weed grows in many countries around the equator, and they naturally get 12/12, 365 days per year? What is the diff, if it is done inside like that??? Any advice would be appreciated.

setup another grow space or wait until you harvest the plants you are flowering now and THEN germ new ones; veg, flower, harvest, germ, rinse, repeat

As much as I would like to do that, I am a MM Patient, and had no choice but to overlap...the process is already underway:roll:. Due to financial reasons, I had no choice but to do it that way.....so at this point, I'm looking for some guidance as to walk my way through this process that I screwed up..oops!!
I know that the way "sens1" said to do it is the most advisable way, but I had no choice..:):spew:

Am I right in thinking you haven't started a grow yet? If you have started a grow already and you are about to germ more seeds and are worried what to do concerning lighting then forget the seeds and clone from the plants already in flower. I grow a non veg operation and I know a few other guys on here do. Just take some clones and keep them at 12/12 then clone again and again, but I wouldn't clone more than 2 weeks into flower personally.

If you haven't started yet then of course veg the seeds for however long you can, height restrictions taken into account etc. then go 12/12 3 weeks into 12/12 take cutting and put them straight into 12/12 and so on and so forth. This way you will have lesser yieds but more often so it evens itself out-and on the plus side for you, you don't need two areas.Good luck!

Do You have anyway to take some pictures and maybe keep us informed as to how the grow is going. I understand you have some limitations due to your health. This could be very helpfull and the least interesting. I for one am would really like to see how it turns out. Good luck

Here's a link to a wealth of info on this subject. I just posted it in the thread below this one, but since threads don't stay next to each other I post it here for you as well.

International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - 12/12 From Seed: A Different Way To Grow

It is from another site, but very good info and some pretty good reports with this method of growing. Some yeilding over an oz per plant using 200-250 watts of cfl's.

Just be sure to post your progress and results here for all to see. Good luck, and happy growing.

No problem. I hope it all works out for you. I plan to start this type of grow myself soon, so I'll be keeping an eye on your progress.

Woomeister: please explain your no veg clone rotation please, cuz I did the math and I can't work it out... you said don't clone after 2 weeks but if this is the case then I don't understand how you can maintain your crop.

i.e if plant 'A' gets cloned at 2 weeks, lets call the clones plants 'B'

then plants 'B' being clones of plant 'A' have already been flowering for 2 weeks, so what do you clone from next?

by the time (to use your key) plant 'b' has been removed from 'a' they have been on 12/12 for 2 weeks maximum but the lower branch cuttings show no signs of bud formation and take at least another 2 weeks under 12/12 after rooting before they are big enough to clone from again. So a continual cycles is possible-small plants but fine for SOG under 250watt cfl.
