ok so my buddy flowers at night and during the day if the sun is bright the grow room will get light leaks from the window (blocked with solar curtain from target and cardboard)

but the buds are flowering normally despite this light leak.

why?

It is my understanding that a light leak will not keep them from flowering, but will stress them and you then won't achieve optimum results. Idk, best answer I could think of.

During the dark period of 12/12 it needs to be completely black, if you think its a myth wait until your girls start growing balls.

As long as no light leaks directly onto the plant I doubt there would be any problems. In your situation I'm sure it's fine cuz a few leaks of light aren't enough to illuminate the grow room.

the light leak is not a myth ,

your plant will still flower with light leak ,

it just ( might ) cause some stress also , maybe go hermi

im not saying it will ,

some strains are more tolerant then others ,

you might have one that the light leak wont effect , or you could have one that it will

oh?

just how many lumen is a full moon?
...and how many are 'needed' to mess up your light tight grow?
see the problem?

are all wild marijuana stressed and/or hermi?
i'm betting no...that are are in all fact plenty of healthy females out there

they are not tolerant...they are female.
light leaks make the hermi noticeable for what it really is...a hermi
end of story.

thumb and panda are right. one strain, the bonanza plant, has not hermied. (all from bagseeds)

also, the leaks are far from directly hitting the plants, in fact they are in the darkest section of the room.

they are starting week 5 and have had bananas since week 3+

Wait I thought you were saying it was fine earlier and now you say it has nanners and therefore a hermi....that's not fine. I'm confused. WTF lol.

look...it's relative matter

indoor growers claim to set up the environment as natural as possible for the plant to thrive.
this basic lie/misconception/misunderstanding/call it what you will, throws off everything else after that.

indoor growing is NOT natural. period.
Nearly every grower quickly falls into a habit of providing the 'PERFECT' growing environment for a plant when no such thing actually exists for the poor thing.
NATURE has cloudy days, drought, defoliation, winds, fire, hail, and a wide assortment of things growers avoid in general...a shame really...it toughens up the plant, and provides for a healthier plant

growers make their grows so 'perfect' the weakest of plants produce a mega yield through tender loving care that mother nature would have squashed out generations ago...they are sensitive to the smallest thing...like a friggin led pen turned on for ten seconds....THEN THE FOOLS BREED/CLONE THEM!

mahahaha.....no wonder, huh?
:D

someone said it so eloquently around here once...
if you raise a retarded pig and a normal pig in your closet, both would do just fine and you may never notice the difference.
turn those pigs out in a yard, and soon the retarded pig will show itself, while the normal pig will suffer no ill effect.

indoor grows do not get the same light intensity from h.p.s / mh / ect

as outdoor grows get from the sun

because of the intensity of the sun during the day the plant is not effected by the comparatively weak light sources at night.
